How can I repair damage from a chemical hair straightener?

I put a chemical hair straightener on my hair about a week ago and my hair is totally damaged. I ruined my hair and will never do anything like it again. I have been deep conditioning my hair everyday since, and it is still fried and damaged looking. Anyone have any suggestions or remedies? How can I repair damage from a chemical hair straightener?
If your hair is long the only thing to do is to go to a salon and have them try to cut off some of the damaged hair. Keep conditioning and pray that the hair does not break off. About the only thing you can do to damaged hair is have it cut or let it grow and then have it cut. If it is possible to have some cut off I think I would do that. Good luck. How can I repair damage from a chemical hair straightener?
all of those answers are right. go to a salon and have it trimmed regularly (and by regularly i mean like every 4-6 weeks) try to stay away from coloring it. and try not to flat iron it. if you absolutely have to flat iron it then use a thermal protector. i suggest smoothing shine milk by biolage or glass by redken. if you go to a local salon they will be able to help you out with that. my hair was badly damaged from coloring it so much. i used a deep conditioner called pureology. if a salon in your area doesn't carry it redken has a new line out that is especially made for damaged fragile hair. i am so sorry to hear that this happened... i hope everything works out.
If your hair was colored, then that was a really bad idea to chemically straighten your hair becauseit burns. After you have chemically straightened your hair you cant wash your hair for 3 days or blow dry otherwise that will staff it up.

The only solution is dont use shampoo or conditioner for a while. avoid blow drying or and heat againist your hair, dont use HOT water on your hair

hope this helps and your hair gets better

That's really weird - I've used a chemical straightener quite a few times and never had any damage. I feel really bad for you and the only suggestion I have is a really good conditioner treatment I get from Target called Umberto Beverly Hills. Hope it helps.
you're just going to have to let your hair grow out. sorry :(
