What is the best chi hair straightener for me?

I was looking at the original black one or the nano.

What does the nano do that the original doesn't? Because they're the same price.

I have wavy/curly/poofy hair and i straighten it every other day but my straightener i have now isn't working so well so i wanted to get a new one for my b-day.

Or is there a better brand of straightener that you know of?

My max price is like $100What is the best chi hair straightener for me?
i dont know the difference really but i have the pink chi (same as the black one) %26amp; it does an amazing job because my hair is very very curly %26amp; hard to manage if not straightened.

you could also get a babybliss straightener im not sure of the price because i havent used one of those in a long time, but it did a pretty good job!

  • Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?

They sell it on tv. If anyone has ever used it, please let me know if its worth buying and how it worked for you. Thanks!Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?
Lexx says nothing works for my locks! *cries*Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?
i recieved it as a birthday gift and love it! it saves so much time and it really does work. i highly recommend it.
It doesn't look like the quality that'd be good for your hair. If you want decent straighteners, you'll need to splurge out a bit, on CHI's or GHD's.
    it looks kind of cheap...

Get a chi!! i have the chi turbo and its awesomeeeeeeeeeeee
It works but it didn't work for a long time. I recommend the cortex

the best cordless hair straighteners are the morphy richards ones the r really good. but best straighteners are GHD they are brilliant but not cordless
I don't know about cordless but apparently the finest hair straighteners going are by ghs

Bought my wife some last Christmas and she's still raving about them. They do cost a bit as I remember - but you will see where the money went.

What is a good, inexpensive hair straightener?

I have been using the Remington's Wet 2 Style Straightener for about two years, and I'm looking for a new product, with a reasonable price. The problem I have with my current straightener is that it's not made to straighten, only to dry. It keeps my hair straight for an hour or so, but then it starts to wave. So I need a new product, that will work efficiently and won't make me bankrupt. What is a good, inexpensive hair straightener?

i have the 1 inch one i think

i straighten and curl it with that

    :)

    good luck!
Chi straighteners work the best, but can be on the pricey side. I have never tried to find one at Costco, so that could be a good place to look. I own a Chi and it is so worth the money.

However, I was intrigued by a Conair commercial recently about their new Infiniti Multi-Functional Styling Iron: http://www.conair.com/infiniti-conair-style-multi-functional-styling-iron-p-761.html Since it was only $30, I decided to try it out for the curling possibilities. I think it will take more practice to get the curling down, but as a straightener I think it works really well! I take it with me when I travel so that I don't break my Chi.
GHD was the best, New rounder barrel so it's even easier to create perfect curls, waves or flicks, as well as the perfect straight.

How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?

My mom won't let me use a hair straightener!!!! Can you please give me a way to straighten it(blow dryer, etc.)How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?
Try Wella hair straightening cream, works effectively in straightening curly hair and it conditions the hair for a silky and shiny hair. How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?
Blow dry it. Brush it while you blow dry it, pulling it tight with the brush. It wont have quite the same effect as straightening it, but it will make it a bit straigher.
I don't know any others way. I always use hair straightener to straight my hair.
that is so not hard Lol

    Hair straighteners?

Hello, Does anyone have a suggestions on a good hair staightener? Preferable one you can purchase at Walmart.

    Thank YouHair straighteners?
The Chi Iron is the bomb. It has a warranty %26amp; everything. It will straighten the nappiest hair in like 5 minutes. It's amazing!!!

You can get it at a salon, it's expensive but well worth it. The ones at Wal-Mart are cheap for a reason... they suck!Hair straighteners?
The best hair straightner that I found at WalMart is the Remington Wet. 2 Straight Ceramic Straightner. It has different settings for dry hair, damp hair, or wet hair and even has a slight steam to help dry and straighten wet hair fast. I have naturally curly hair and I use this on my hair, it works great on my hair. Hope this helps!
The best Hair straightener like you don't have to go over the same strand again and again and will work on the most unruly hair..is a CHI (say ';chee';) you can't get it at wal-mart but you can get it at like any hair salon. it about 80 - 100 $ but well worth the investment
they have them there for $20.00

the andis ceramic black one is amazing.
I doubt that they will sell it at WalMart but you can try the GHD
the hair straighteners at walmart don't get that hot. go to a beauty supply store and buy one of those gold ones or a herstyler. i bought a herstyler at the kiosk at the mall it works really well. it only takes an hour plus instead of 2 hours plus to iron my hair.

How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?

I have wavy hair and it bugs me and I just got a brand new hair straightener. My hair is about 3-4 inches past my shoulders. I like using my hair straightener and have used it for 2 days now, but I'm not good at it yet and I only can get the first few sections in the front. :S Please give me any tips on how to get the back better. And also I have heard of how it can really damage/fry your hair if you use your straightener a lot. How often is it okay to use a hair straightener/curling iron? Thanks in advance! =]How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?
If your sensible with hair straightening it won't damage your hair.

Its best to give your hair a full days break (including night) from straightening your hair. But if you can't for whatever reason.

Keep the settings on ';low'; and give your hair a good deep conditiononing 3 times a week.

Schwarzkopf have a good range in deep conditioning products and they really do work. Its best to leave the conditionor in for an hour with a towel wrapped around your head.

Its best not to blow dry your hair as soon as you've washed it. As it'll be prone to damaged hair, split ends etc

Unless you use ';low'; settings and take your time.

Good luck [:How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?
It's hard to get it in the back but keep trying, if you can ask your mom or someone to help you. And it isn't too bad to do it everyday, as long as you use a really good deep conditioner and some heat protectant serum. But on the weekends, if you aren't going anywhere, don't straighten your hair. Give a break once in a while.
Well first off, I straighten my hair every other day or so, i mean, my hair isn't damaged at all. As long as you go to the salon regularly to get the ends clipped off, you should be fine .Now, in order to get the back, and underneath parts of your hair, take a small section of hair from underneath, and clip the rest on the top of your head with a claw clip. when your done, let all your hair on the top of your head down, and take a bigger section. You should move from the back/bottom or your head to the top. if you have bangs, straighten them first, and leave them down while you straighten (:
i use my straightener almost everyday and my hair is fine. to get the back better maybe if u do it in front of a mirror , u can put another mirror behind you , you can see the back of your head alot better.

    hope i helped :]
flip youre head towards the floor and let youre hair hang you can get it all and the back, or just pull the back parts foward. how often i dont know.
part your hair into sections. like pull the sides and top up to get the back, then let it down in small sections. it works a lot better than trying to get it all at once. and yes, straightening your hair can cause A LOT of damage because of the amount of heat. but now, they have plenty of products that help protect and fix your hair. just choose a product that protects against heat.

Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?

ok..I'm straightening my hair with a straightener for the VERY FIRST time and its a metal one, people have been suggesting using ceramic instead, but those are very costly and not actually what I need.

I already have straight hair, I just want to style them for an upcoming event, and I won't be using the straightener on a regular basis.

Should I go ahead with the process? I seriously DON'T want any damage to my hair. Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?
Yes I so go for it. Just some heat protecter cream or serum on your hair and becarefull not to get the metal straightner too hot. I suggest since your hair is already straigh maybe a medium setting. Good Luck...=)Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?
I suggest, even if you're not going to use it on a regular basis, that you buy a styling product that protects against heat. I recently purchased Got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten Flat Iron Balm and Gloss Finish. I had problems previously with breakage and dry ends from daily use of a flat iron, but since I've been using that spray my hair is very silky and you'd never be able to tell I heat styled it. The product is only about $6 or $7 a bottle, and it's totally worth it! I think I bought it at CVS Pharmacy or Walmart, I can't remember, but it should be easy to find.

Oh, and just spray it once or twice LIGHTLY on each section of hair just before you straighten it and use the flat iron while its still semi-wet. It may make a slight sizzle sound, but that's just the product drying.
You're just using it for a one time event? Than go for it. Really, a few times won't matter- it's when people make it a daily habit is when severe damage occurs.
The first few times you won't damage your hair, but if you want to be safe there are many products that can protect your hair from heat damage some good ones are tresemme' or VO5. Hopefully this was helpful =)

What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?

I want to know what store you can get a cheap CHI or Sedu or something hair straightener that works really good for making pin straight hair on wavy hair. Preferably has to be under $50, and is good quality and somewhere in Vancouver, BC. Anybody??What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?
I'm not too keen on the different brands but pretty much anything with ceramic plates should work - and preferably a dial to adjust the temperature. And to be honest, if you really want a good straightener, you might want to be ready to shell out a little more cash if you can afford to, it'll be well worth it.

Just take a check at places such as maybe the Bay/Sears (maybe in the electric/home appliances?) or even take a look at Metrotown to see what you can find.

If that doesn't work I'd go to salons like Toni %26amp; Guy, Suki, Air, Chura, etc. and see if they sell some or can give you suggestions or where you can purchase one.

Hope this helped just a little - I bought a really good one for 20.00 but it's from Japan. Good luck! What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?
ok if you have a sally's store in the area you need to go there the best thing to make pin straight hair is getting a fine toothed comb and the straightener make the straightener follow the comb through the hair. one major factor is getting a straightener that gets hot enough. my mom is a hair stylist and she uses one that goes up to 450 degrees you literally have to only run it through once quickly so you don't fry your hair. also make sure you section off the hair. i will give you a link to one i am talking about it works awesome. also make sure you have a good heat protection styling product that protects the hair. and some shine serum helps too to give you that sleek look. first apply to your ends then to your fly aways to avoid looking greasy. a thinner iron is better. it says it is only 39.99 so it is a professional iron for a great price. my mom paid 79 for hers. also chi straighteners aren't all they have cracked up to be they are so expensive because they are popular. they tend to pull your hair.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
first off, you're not going to find a CHI straightner for under $100 just because they're one of the nicest and they're so popular. my suggestion would be the revlon ceramic one or something ceramic because that's what makes your hair really straight and makes it stay straight. i guess you could always look on ebay as well....
Umm.. if i were you i would save up a bit more to get a GOOD straightener like the chi (its 200$). Because anything under 100 dollars is fake ceramic and it can really damage ur hair... plus it wont get ur hair pin straight unless u spend hours on it
You might be able to get a flat Iron at Walgreen's but keep in mind that if you are not buying these from a salon or a professional beauty supply store then it might be a knock off which means its a piece of a **** and I would defiantly use a thermal spray so you do not burn your hair and if your going to use this everyday or every other use a good conditioner and you might also want to check a Sally's Beauty Supply I hope I helped I am also a cosmetologist.

How can I clean my hair straightener?

I'm pretty sure that my hair straightener is making my hair greasy after I use it, because I'll have just come out of the shower and my hair will be amazing. Then I'll straighten it and it will work, but look greasy somewhat. I have the Remington Wet2Straight straightener, any ideas on how I can clean the plates safely so my hair won't be greasy anymore? How can I clean my hair straightener?
First, use a damp cloth to wipe the plates. Then, use a cotton ball with a bit a rubbing alcohol and wipe it on the plates. Then dry it with a tissue or something like that. And of course, remember to have your flat iron turned off when doing this. How can I clean my hair straightener?
i have the same one! haha, cool

anyways. after cooling, im sure the best way to clean it would to just wipe it with a wet paper towel after a few uses.

no soap, that will dry to your plates and then glide into your hair when you use it. not pleasent :)

    anyways...hope that helps
I have the same straigtener and that same thing happened to me. I took dish soap lol. Does it have like brown stuff on it? Cuz i used hair spray a lot with it for a certain style. I just used dishsoap and hot water. hope that helped. just scrub really hard with one of those rough sponges.
When its not warm put a wet cloth or tissue on the plates and rub off any grime, then wipe the whole plates down and leave to air dry for a while when copletely dry then turn them on heat them up and see the difference!

    Hope i helped!

    10 points?

    Jangles!.X
Try setting it at a low temperature and take a damp cloth and wipe the blade of.

Or maybe it could be just the product your using after you get out of the shower.
i have the same problem, and the same straightener!

wait till it's cool to clean it, but im not sure what to use to clean it.
invest in a new straightener like a chi-my plates are clean

and also its best for your hair not to be straightened when its wet
make sure its off and get an EXTREMELY damp tissue and rub it on the straightener. If you make it to wet it might stop working so just make it barely wet
Just get a wet cloth %26amp; dish washing liquid (a degreaser), dawn works good, and whip it down with that really good %26amp; then rise it!
my stylist said put a little conditioner on a damp washcloth and just stroke the plates.

Umm. Maybe get a SLIGHTLY damp paper towel and rub it down, but be careful. I'm not really sure what to do for this one,.
rubbing alcohol and a wash cloth, sometimes the residue even scrapes of with ur fingernail
    Maybe rubbing alcohol
try rubbing soap and water on it.

    Or alchoal.

use a tooth brush and floss...

    oh wait...

    thats to clean your teeth...

Can the HERSTYLER Professional Japanese Hair straightener keep your hair straightened for over a year?

Hey yer is it when the red light keeps on flashing??How hot do you have to have the Hair straightener to Straighten hair?
when the red light stops flashing then u can use it,

but if its like my flat iorn and after you use it and it starts flashing again,

you can still use it.How hot do you have to have the Hair straightener to Straighten hair?
the temperature depends on the texture of ur hair

as for the red light flashing...one of my straighteners does that too..it means its still heating up to the temp you've chosen
just use them if they dont work give them longer.

i dont know what straighters you have but on mine you can choose what temp.
Usually there is an indicator when it is ready or not.But the best way to find out is read the manual..so good luck

    Are these good hair straighteners?

Hi, I really need a hair straightener. My hair is kind of thick and wavy. What are some 0-25 dollar great straighteners? I have hardly any money, and where do you get the straightener you talk about? Does Target have it? Also, below is a straightener and I want to know if it works all right. Thanks!

    http://www.amazon.com/Remington-That-Cur/a>

    Are these good hair straighteners?
I have really thick, wavy hair and the only straighteners that do the job and make my hair very straight and sleek is from salons.

Sorry, but all the cheap ones will not give you good results.

Like with anything else, you get what you pay for.... I paid 120 bucks for mine and I've had it for 4 years.

    Are these good hair straighteners?
honestly, any 0-25 dollar straightener- wont get hot enough to staighten well. especially for thick, wavy hair like yours. i used to have a cheap straightener, and it took me hours just to get my hair partially straight. my hair isnt really that curly, either. my advice is- save up, and get the 2 inch Chi flat iron. it really works %26amp; makes a huge difference- and the 2 inch one is bigger and is better for thick hair. the original one costs a little bit above 100.
i dont think you can get a great straightner for $25, the straightener i use (and my step sister who happends to be a hair stylist) http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d/a>

its just about $70 but it works really well.

i know this doesnt really anwser your question but i wouldnt get a $25 straigtener, save your money until you can buy a good one, or ask your parents to spot you.
pretty much anyy ceramic one will do a pretty good jobb, ceramic heats up fasttt so its easierr. its the one with like the gold part to straighten. %26amp;%26amp; the one that you listed iss nott a greatt one, theres a ceramic one in walmart for 25 i think it will work good, %26amp;%26amp; when u straighten your hair if you do it in layers like leave some down and put the rest in a bun on the top of your head and just take some down as you straighten it it goes by faster %26amp;comes out less frizzy %26amp; poofy.

im sorry but you cant get a good hair straightner for that much i have thick wavy hair too and i tryed all the cheap ones and non work you should save and go to your salon they can recomend a good one they (chi is a very good brand) good hair straightners range form 80 - 250 $
i have no idea about that straightener but, Remington's Wet 2 Straight Hair Straightener works great. No matter what the name is i don'tt advise you tostraightenn your hair wet.
I use the chi iron and that's really pricy, but I cant use any other iron. It really depends on your hair though.
    yeahh they r good
CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.

Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?

    Never use on wet hair.

Also, on Folica.com, people can post reviews on products after they have tried them. Here are they stats on CHI:

73 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of out of 1275 total reviews.

    Sedu:

29 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of 3881 total reviews.

    That speaks for itself!

If your hair starts to get damaged, turn down the tempature.

    Take a look at this.

    http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh/a>

Note how CHI is number 7.

Note how GHD is number 4.

Sedu is the top flat iron and there is proof!

Or if you want something a little cheaper but also is still better than the CHI, get a Solia, it is second in line to the Sedu.

I have the Remington Wet to Straight and it works well for me. You can straighten it when your hair is damp or wet but Ive never used it when my hair was really wet just is case. And my hair has never been damaged from it. It also straightens your hair pretty fast.Wet to straight hair straighteners?
DONT GET IT! i had the same problem i have naturally wavy hair and it takes me hair forever to dry so i got the reimngtion one and it damaged my hair SOOOO bad and made my hair dry and frizzy and poofy!!! dont get a wet to straight one at all they all do the same thing!
I have a pair of wet2straight straighteners, and they are really good. I don't think they've done my hair any damage, it leaves it really soft and straight. Be careful when you do it from wet though as it can burn you a bit from the steam!

    go for it girl :)
i bought this and hated it i have really curly hair naturally and i can get it stick straight if i blow dry then straighen. it didn't work well and just made me really hot from all the steam it creates drying your hair
i have it but i dont trust it with wet hair its a great straightner tho. my friend uses it on her wet hair and it seems ok but i still dont trust it wet :/ but yeah i like it for dry hair....(:
wet2straight flat iron they take all the water out of your hair and steams it and it dosent dammage your hair
straightening your hair while it's wet is always bad.

it fries your hair a lot more.

especially since it has to be a lot hotter to dry your hair too.
noooo those are badd for your hair!

dont do it they damage it a lot!

    .
The Chi iron works really good.Ii ahve one it heats up to 250 f .
are you sure about 200C, seems very hot.
Hair straighteners that get really hot aren't good for your hair. What you should be looking for is if they are made from ceramic which will protect your hair. GHD hairs straighteners are the best.
they have to be pretty hot but you have to find a good one that doesnt pull your hair. try sallys or some hair place that sells them.
Around 200 degrees is the norm now, GHD's are my choice and they are fantastic. FULL Ceramic plates are something you should look for too, ceramic plated aren't as good. You also need good protective products, you will fry your hair at these temperatures if you don't use any protection.

www.HQhair.com have GHD's for around 拢80 (拢20 less than many other retailers) and they also carry the GHD product range which have the protection factor. Alternatively Paul Mitchell Heat Seal or Seal and Shine will help protect your hair.
    Geeze! Go to a Salon and have them Relax your hair if your planning to bake your hair at home %26gt;.%26lt;

Straighteners Weaken and Damage your hair greatly to get that poker straight thing.

Relaxers make your hair feel great but leave your hair with a little of a curl.

Maybe someone will know what your talking about with this bakeing temperture straighteners your seeking.
200* Celsius is equivalent to about 430* Fahrenheit. That is ample heat to straighten even the most unruly of hair. I personally would recommend the Hot Tools model #1188. It is a one inch ceramic and tourmaline model. Many people like the CHI Irons. Let me tell you the difference between the two. First and foremost, price point! You will pay about $60.00 for the Hot Tools model and about twice that for the CHI. Is it because the CHI is better? No, it's because Hot Tools manufactures hundreds of items each year. They are an appliance manufacturer, CHI is NOT. Hot Tools owns their own factories and therefore eliminates the middle man. They also have more items to spread their profits over. They don't have to try and make all of their money off of one item.

They both have floating plates which in turn requires less tension on the iron to completely clamp down on the hair.

They Hot Tools iron gets hotter than the CHI by about 20*F. The Hot Tools model has a rheostat so that you can choose the temperature it also has patented Pulse Technology which means,,,,,,it gets HOT and stays HOT!

    How hot are hair straighteners?(C)?

Depends...Some straight Irons are Super Hot, and Some aren't too hot(Like you can leave your hand on it without it burning you.).

Some Straight Irons only go up to 30, Which can be Very hot on some, and not too hot on others...Usually the one's that go up to 250 are super hot.How hot are hair straighteners?(C)?
Hottest temperature in most h.s. is around 200掳C.

Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?

I dyed my hair yesterday and straightened it today and i'm noticing a patch where it's still brown. could the straightener have done this or did i just miss it when i was dying my hair? Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?
you missed it.Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?
No it can't. perhaps the patch was a case of un even dyeing, which used to happen to me. Just make sure you're extra careful %26amp; even when dyeing your hair next time :)
never! u just missed that spot!
Yup, you missed a spot. A straightener has never burned color out of my hair.

Cheap straightners are sooooo worth it. Expensive straightners work pretty much the same as cheaper ones.

You should get a Conair striaghtner, they are really good quality and cheap. You can find them at almost any store too.

    I have this straightner/ curling iron (2 in 1):

    You'll se all the straightners

    Hope I helped :)
a revlon one inch wide one. I have the same problem with others and mine works amazingly. and, it is only $25 at target!!! i know, amazing!
Well it's not overly cheap and I'm sorry you said cheap lol but

Bedhead brand is a really good brand

they can be from 40-75 dollars in the US

and im sure they have them in Canada also
well if you have thick hair you should get an expensive one...

    but ion straighteners are good.

    mine was 80.

    from sallys.

a place you've never heard of?
Honestly, it's worth investing in a more expensive one that costs like 60 if your going to use it frequently. It's safer and more efficient.
cheap straighteners are not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they make your hair look fried and damage your hair faster then the good straightener! buy a good one
i have thick wavy hair too and i use a remington and its gr8
