How do you clean a hair straightener?

i tried that rubbing alcohol and its not working. is there any other solutions? How do you clean a hair straightener?
If youre cleaning it because of residue built up, try turning your iron on until warm, shut it off and clean it with a warm damp cloth. The heat from the iron will make it easier to clean. Never put a chemical solvent on your flat iron.

If youre cleaning it due to germs and bacteria, it is a proven fact that hair straighteners are not susceptible to withhold germs that can harm your hair. Anything that says otherwise are creating a solution to a virtually non existent problem. How do you clean a hair straightener?
