What is the best chi hair straightener for me?

I was looking at the original black one or the nano.

What does the nano do that the original doesn't? Because they're the same price.

I have wavy/curly/poofy hair and i straighten it every other day but my straightener i have now isn't working so well so i wanted to get a new one for my b-day.

Or is there a better brand of straightener that you know of?

My max price is like $100What is the best chi hair straightener for me?
i dont know the difference really but i have the pink chi (same as the black one) %26amp; it does an amazing job because my hair is very very curly %26amp; hard to manage if not straightened.

you could also get a babybliss straightener im not sure of the price because i havent used one of those in a long time, but it did a pretty good job!

  • Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?

They sell it on tv. If anyone has ever used it, please let me know if its worth buying and how it worked for you. Thanks!Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?
Lexx says nothing works for my locks! *cries*Has anybody ever used the hair straightener called the Instyler?
i recieved it as a birthday gift and love it! it saves so much time and it really does work. i highly recommend it.
It doesn't look like the quality that'd be good for your hair. If you want decent straighteners, you'll need to splurge out a bit, on CHI's or GHD's.
    it looks kind of cheap...

Get a chi!! i have the chi turbo and its awesomeeeeeeeeeeee
It works but it didn't work for a long time. I recommend the cortex

I don't know about cordless but apparently the finest hair straighteners going are by ghs

Bought my wife some last Christmas and she's still raving about them. They do cost a bit as I remember - but you will see where the money went.

What is a good, inexpensive hair straightener?

I have been using the Remington's Wet 2 Style Straightener for about two years, and I'm looking for a new product, with a reasonable price. The problem I have with my current straightener is that it's not made to straighten, only to dry. It keeps my hair straight for an hour or so, but then it starts to wave. So I need a new product, that will work efficiently and won't make me bankrupt. What is a good, inexpensive hair straightener?

    good luck!
Chi straighteners work the best, but can be on the pricey side. I have never tried to find one at Costco, so that could be a good place to look. I own a Chi and it is so worth the money.

However, I was intrigued by a Conair commercial recently about their new Infiniti Multi-Functional Styling Iron: http://www.conair.com/infiniti-conair-style-multi-functional-styling-iron-p-761.html Since it was only $30, I decided to try it out for the curling possibilities. I think it will take more practice to get the curling down, but as a straightener I think it works really well! I take it with me when I travel so that I don't break my Chi.
GHD was the best, New rounder barrel so it's even easier to create perfect curls, waves or flicks, as well as the perfect straight.

How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?

My mom won't let me use a hair straightener!!!! Can you please give me a way to straighten it(blow dryer, etc.)How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?
Try Wella hair straightening cream, works effectively in straightening curly hair and it conditions the hair for a silky and shiny hair. How do I straighten my hair without a hair straightener?
Blow dry it. Brush it while you blow dry it, pulling it tight with the brush. It wont have quite the same effect as straightening it, but it will make it a bit straigher.
I don't know any others way. I always use hair straightener to straight my hair.
that is so not hard Lol

    Hair straighteners?

Hello, Does anyone have a suggestions on a good hair staightener? Preferable one you can purchase at Walmart.

    Thank YouHair straighteners?
The Chi Iron is the bomb. It has a warranty %26amp; everything. It will straighten the nappiest hair in like 5 minutes. It's amazing!!!

You can get it at a salon, it's expensive but well worth it. The ones at Wal-Mart are cheap for a reason... they suck!Hair straighteners?
The best hair straightner that I found at WalMart is the Remington Wet. 2 Straight Ceramic Straightner. It has different settings for dry hair, damp hair, or wet hair and even has a slight steam to help dry and straighten wet hair fast. I have naturally curly hair and I use this on my hair, it works great on my hair. Hope this helps!
The best Hair straightener like you don't have to go over the same strand again and again and will work on the most unruly hair..is a CHI (say ';chee';) you can't get it at wal-mart but you can get it at like any hair salon. it about 80 - 100 $ but well worth the investment
they have them there for $20.00

the andis ceramic black one is amazing.
I doubt that they will sell it at WalMart but you can try the GHD
the hair straighteners at walmart don't get that hot. go to a beauty supply store and buy one of those gold ones or a herstyler. i bought a herstyler at the kiosk at the mall it works really well. it only takes an hour plus instead of 2 hours plus to iron my hair.

How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?

I have wavy hair and it bugs me and I just got a brand new hair straightener. My hair is about 3-4 inches past my shoulders. I like using my hair straightener and have used it for 2 days now, but I'm not good at it yet and I only can get the first few sections in the front. :S Please give me any tips on how to get the back better. And also I have heard of how it can really damage/fry your hair if you use your straightener a lot. How often is it okay to use a hair straightener/curling iron? Thanks in advance! =]How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?
If your sensible with hair straightening it won't damage your hair.

Its best to give your hair a full days break (including night) from straightening your hair. But if you can't for whatever reason.

Keep the settings on ';low'; and give your hair a good deep conditiononing 3 times a week.

Schwarzkopf have a good range in deep conditioning products and they really do work. Its best to leave the conditionor in for an hour with a towel wrapped around your head.

Its best not to blow dry your hair as soon as you've washed it. As it'll be prone to damaged hair, split ends etc

Unless you use ';low'; settings and take your time.

Good luck [:How often is it okay to use a hair straightener?
It's hard to get it in the back but keep trying, if you can ask your mom or someone to help you. And it isn't too bad to do it everyday, as long as you use a really good deep conditioner and some heat protectant serum. But on the weekends, if you aren't going anywhere, don't straighten your hair. Give a break once in a while.
Well first off, I straighten my hair every other day or so, i mean, my hair isn't damaged at all. As long as you go to the salon regularly to get the ends clipped off, you should be fine .Now, in order to get the back, and underneath parts of your hair, take a small section of hair from underneath, and clip the rest on the top of your head with a claw clip. when your done, let all your hair on the top of your head down, and take a bigger section. You should move from the back/bottom or your head to the top. if you have bangs, straighten them first, and leave them down while you straighten (:
i use my straightener almost everyday and my hair is fine. to get the back better maybe if u do it in front of a mirror , u can put another mirror behind you , you can see the back of your head alot better.

    hope i helped :]
flip youre head towards the floor and let youre hair hang you can get it all and the back, or just pull the back parts foward. how often i dont know.
part your hair into sections. like pull the sides and top up to get the back, then let it down in small sections. it works a lot better than trying to get it all at once. and yes, straightening your hair can cause A LOT of damage because of the amount of heat. but now, they have plenty of products that help protect and fix your hair. just choose a product that protects against heat.

Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?

ok..I'm straightening my hair with a straightener for the VERY FIRST time and its a metal one, people have been suggesting using ceramic instead, but those are very costly and not actually what I need.

I already have straight hair, I just want to style them for an upcoming event, and I won't be using the straightener on a regular basis.

Should I go ahead with the process? I seriously DON'T want any damage to my hair. Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?
Yes I so go for it. Just some heat protecter cream or serum on your hair and becarefull not to get the metal straightner too hot. I suggest since your hair is already straigh maybe a medium setting. Good Luck...=)Can anyone suggest tips for protecting my hair against a metal hair straightener damage?
I suggest, even if you're not going to use it on a regular basis, that you buy a styling product that protects against heat. I recently purchased Got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Flatten Flat Iron Balm and Gloss Finish. I had problems previously with breakage and dry ends from daily use of a flat iron, but since I've been using that spray my hair is very silky and you'd never be able to tell I heat styled it. The product is only about $6 or $7 a bottle, and it's totally worth it! I think I bought it at CVS Pharmacy or Walmart, I can't remember, but it should be easy to find.

Oh, and just spray it once or twice LIGHTLY on each section of hair just before you straighten it and use the flat iron while its still semi-wet. It may make a slight sizzle sound, but that's just the product drying.
You're just using it for a one time event? Than go for it. Really, a few times won't matter- it's when people make it a daily habit is when severe damage occurs.
The first few times you won't damage your hair, but if you want to be safe there are many products that can protect your hair from heat damage some good ones are tresemme' or VO5. Hopefully this was helpful =)

What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?

I want to know what store you can get a cheap CHI or Sedu or something hair straightener that works really good for making pin straight hair on wavy hair. Preferably has to be under $50, and is good quality and somewhere in Vancouver, BC. Anybody??What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?
I'm not too keen on the different brands but pretty much anything with ceramic plates should work - and preferably a dial to adjust the temperature. And to be honest, if you really want a good straightener, you might want to be ready to shell out a little more cash if you can afford to, it'll be well worth it.

Just take a check at places such as maybe the Bay/Sears (maybe in the electric/home appliances?) or even take a look at Metrotown to see what you can find.

If that doesn't work I'd go to salons like Toni %26amp; Guy, Suki, Air, Chura, etc. and see if they sell some or can give you suggestions or where you can purchase one.

Hope this helped just a little - I bought a really good one for 20.00 but it's from Japan. Good luck! What's the cheapest/decent hair straightener in all of Vancouver?
ok if you have a sally's store in the area you need to go there the best thing to make pin straight hair is getting a fine toothed comb and the straightener make the straightener follow the comb through the hair. one major factor is getting a straightener that gets hot enough. my mom is a hair stylist and she uses one that goes up to 450 degrees you literally have to only run it through once quickly so you don't fry your hair. also make sure you section off the hair. i will give you a link to one i am talking about it works awesome. also make sure you have a good heat protection styling product that protects the hair. and some shine serum helps too to give you that sleek look. first apply to your ends then to your fly aways to avoid looking greasy. a thinner iron is better. it says it is only 39.99 so it is a professional iron for a great price. my mom paid 79 for hers. also chi straighteners aren't all they have cracked up to be they are so expensive because they are popular. they tend to pull your hair.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
first off, you're not going to find a CHI straightner for under $100 just because they're one of the nicest and they're so popular. my suggestion would be the revlon ceramic one or something ceramic because that's what makes your hair really straight and makes it stay straight. i guess you could always look on ebay as well....
Umm.. if i were you i would save up a bit more to get a GOOD straightener like the chi (its 200$). Because anything under 100 dollars is fake ceramic and it can really damage ur hair... plus it wont get ur hair pin straight unless u spend hours on it
You might be able to get a flat Iron at Walgreen's but keep in mind that if you are not buying these from a salon or a professional beauty supply store then it might be a knock off which means its a piece of a **** and I would defiantly use a thermal spray so you do not burn your hair and if your going to use this everyday or every other use a good conditioner and you might also want to check a Sally's Beauty Supply I hope I helped I am also a cosmetologist.

How can I clean my hair straightener?

I'm pretty sure that my hair straightener is making my hair greasy after I use it, because I'll have just come out of the shower and my hair will be amazing. Then I'll straighten it and it will work, but look greasy somewhat. I have the Remington Wet2Straight straightener, any ideas on how I can clean the plates safely so my hair won't be greasy anymore? How can I clean my hair straightener?
First, use a damp cloth to wipe the plates. Then, use a cotton ball with a bit a rubbing alcohol and wipe it on the plates. Then dry it with a tissue or something like that. And of course, remember to have your flat iron turned off when doing this. How can I clean my hair straightener?
i have the same one! haha, cool

anyways. after cooling, im sure the best way to clean it would to just wipe it with a wet paper towel after a few uses.

no soap, that will dry to your plates and then glide into your hair when you use it. not pleasent :)

    anyways...hope that helps
I have the same straigtener and that same thing happened to me. I took dish soap lol. Does it have like brown stuff on it? Cuz i used hair spray a lot with it for a certain style. I just used dishsoap and hot water. hope that helped. just scrub really hard with one of those rough sponges.
When its not warm put a wet cloth or tissue on the plates and rub off any grime, then wipe the whole plates down and leave to air dry for a while when copletely dry then turn them on heat them up and see the difference!

    Hope i helped!

    10 points?

    Jangles!.X
Try setting it at a low temperature and take a damp cloth and wipe the blade of.

Or maybe it could be just the product your using after you get out of the shower.
i have the same problem, and the same straightener!

wait till it's cool to clean it, but im not sure what to use to clean it.
invest in a new straightener like a chi-my plates are clean

and also its best for your hair not to be straightened when its wet
make sure its off and get an EXTREMELY damp tissue and rub it on the straightener. If you make it to wet it might stop working so just make it barely wet
Just get a wet cloth %26amp; dish washing liquid (a degreaser), dawn works good, and whip it down with that really good %26amp; then rise it!
my stylist said put a little conditioner on a damp washcloth and just stroke the plates.

Umm. Maybe get a SLIGHTLY damp paper towel and rub it down, but be careful. I'm not really sure what to do for this one,.
rubbing alcohol and a wash cloth, sometimes the residue even scrapes of with ur fingernail
    Maybe rubbing alcohol
try rubbing soap and water on it.

    Or alchoal.

use a tooth brush and floss...

    oh wait...

    thats to clean your teeth...

but if its like my flat iorn and after you use it and it starts flashing again,

the temperature depends on the texture of ur hair

as for the red light flashing...one of my straighteners does that too..it means its still heating up to the temp you've chosen
just use them if they dont work give them longer.

Usually there is an indicator when it is ready or not.But the best way to find out is read the manual..so good luck

    Are these good hair straighteners?

Hi, I really need a hair straightener. My hair is kind of thick and wavy. What are some 0-25 dollar great straighteners? I have hardly any money, and where do you get the straightener you talk about? Does Target have it? Also, below is a straightener and I want to know if it works all right. Thanks!

    http://www.amazon.com/Remington-That-Cur/a>

    Are these good hair straighteners?
I have really thick, wavy hair and the only straighteners that do the job and make my hair very straight and sleek is from salons.

Sorry, but all the cheap ones will not give you good results.

Like with anything else, you get what you pay for.... I paid 120 bucks for mine and I've had it for 4 years.

    Are these good hair straighteners?
honestly, any 0-25 dollar straightener- wont get hot enough to staighten well. especially for thick, wavy hair like yours. i used to have a cheap straightener, and it took me hours just to get my hair partially straight. my hair isnt really that curly, either. my advice is- save up, and get the 2 inch Chi flat iron. it really works %26amp; makes a huge difference- and the 2 inch one is bigger and is better for thick hair. the original one costs a little bit above 100.
i dont think you can get a great straightner for $25, the straightener i use (and my step sister who happends to be a hair stylist) http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d/a>

its just about $70 but it works really well.

i know this doesnt really anwser your question but i wouldnt get a $25 straigtener, save your money until you can buy a good one, or ask your parents to spot you.
pretty much anyy ceramic one will do a pretty good jobb, ceramic heats up fasttt so its easierr. its the one with like the gold part to straighten. %26amp;%26amp; the one that you listed iss nott a greatt one, theres a ceramic one in walmart for 25 i think it will work good, %26amp;%26amp; when u straighten your hair if you do it in layers like leave some down and put the rest in a bun on the top of your head and just take some down as you straighten it it goes by faster %26amp;comes out less frizzy %26amp; poofy.

im sorry but you cant get a good hair straightner for that much i have thick wavy hair too and i tryed all the cheap ones and non work you should save and go to your salon they can recomend a good one they (chi is a very good brand) good hair straightners range form 80 - 250 $
i have no idea about that straightener but, Remington's Wet 2 Straight Hair Straightener works great. No matter what the name is i don'tt advise you tostraightenn your hair wet.
I use the chi iron and that's really pricy, but I cant use any other iron. It really depends on your hair though.
    yeahh they r good
CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.

Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?

    Never use on wet hair.

Also, on Folica.com, people can post reviews on products after they have tried them. Here are they stats on CHI:

73 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of out of 1275 total reviews.

    Sedu:

29 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of 3881 total reviews.

    That speaks for itself!

If your hair starts to get damaged, turn down the tempature.

    Take a look at this.

    http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh/a>

Note how CHI is number 7.

Note how GHD is number 4.

Sedu is the top flat iron and there is proof!

Or if you want something a little cheaper but also is still better than the CHI, get a Solia, it is second in line to the Sedu.

    Wet to straight hair straighteners?

Do they damage your hair alot? I have a chi now adn love it but i do have some split ends which i understand. But i only starighten my hair like when i am going to school our our somewhere but if i go somewhere soon after a shower, i have to blowdrymy hair theystarighten it, which is annoying, so i was to get a remington one, but does it damage your hair alot? I have really pretty hairso i dont want to have alot more split ends than i already do.Wet to straight hair straighteners?
I have the Remington Wet to Straight and it works well for me. You can straighten it when your hair is damp or wet but Ive never used it when my hair was really wet just is case. And my hair has never been damaged from it. It also straightens your hair pretty fast.Wet to straight hair straighteners?
DONT GET IT! i had the same problem i have naturally wavy hair and it takes me hair forever to dry so i got the reimngtion one and it damaged my hair SOOOO bad and made my hair dry and frizzy and poofy!!! dont get a wet to straight one at all they all do the same thing!
I have a pair of wet2straight straighteners, and they are really good. I don't think they've done my hair any damage, it leaves it really soft and straight. Be careful when you do it from wet though as it can burn you a bit from the steam!

    go for it girl :)
i bought this and hated it i have really curly hair naturally and i can get it stick straight if i blow dry then straighen. it didn't work well and just made me really hot from all the steam it creates drying your hair
i have it but i dont trust it with wet hair its a great straightner tho. my friend uses it on her wet hair and it seems ok but i still dont trust it wet :/ but yeah i like it for dry hair....(:
wet2straight flat iron they take all the water out of your hair and steams it and it dosent dammage your hair
straightening your hair while it's wet is always bad.

it fries your hair a lot more.

especially since it has to be a lot hotter to dry your hair too.
noooo those are badd for your hair!

dont do it they damage it a lot!

How hot do hair straighteners have to get to be descent ones Ive been looking at some that heat up to 200路c?

whats the hottest ones on the market at the momentHow hot do hair straighteners have to get to be descent ones Ive been looking at some that heat up to 200路c?
i have very thick hair and i use remingtons wet2straight. they are incredible and heat up to about 220 degrees i think. i bought them for 拢30 from argos on clearance but are usualy over 拢75. also hot on the market at the moment- remingtons nano gold. the ones which have a screen where you can watch how amny degrees they go up to. i think they reach about 220-30. very good and make your hair look glossy, shiny and most of all straight! hope this helps hele xHow hot do hair straighteners have to get to be descent ones Ive been looking at some that heat up to 200路c?
    .................................

    ........................

well with remington ones u can choose the heat upto 210 and they dont tug lik others.

ghd go up to emmm just over 200 i think 230ish and they r actually really gd but i prefer to choose the heat.

u can get ones that straighten ur hair wet or dry so I suppose they r quite hot

    well gd luck findin sum

    .
The Chi iron works really good.Ii ahve one it heats up to 250 f .
are you sure about 200C, seems very hot.
Hair straighteners that get really hot aren't good for your hair. What you should be looking for is if they are made from ceramic which will protect your hair. GHD hairs straighteners are the best.
they have to be pretty hot but you have to find a good one that doesnt pull your hair. try sallys or some hair place that sells them.
Around 200 degrees is the norm now, GHD's are my choice and they are fantastic. FULL Ceramic plates are something you should look for too, ceramic plated aren't as good. You also need good protective products, you will fry your hair at these temperatures if you don't use any protection.

www.HQhair.com have GHD's for around 拢80 (拢20 less than many other retailers) and they also carry the GHD product range which have the protection factor. Alternatively Paul Mitchell Heat Seal or Seal and Shine will help protect your hair.
    Geeze! Go to a Salon and have them Relax your hair if your planning to bake your hair at home %26gt;.%26lt;

Straighteners Weaken and Damage your hair greatly to get that poker straight thing.

Relaxers make your hair feel great but leave your hair with a little of a curl.

Maybe someone will know what your talking about with this bakeing temperture straighteners your seeking.
200* Celsius is equivalent to about 430* Fahrenheit. That is ample heat to straighten even the most unruly of hair. I personally would recommend the Hot Tools model #1188. It is a one inch ceramic and tourmaline model. Many people like the CHI Irons. Let me tell you the difference between the two. First and foremost, price point! You will pay about $60.00 for the Hot Tools model and about twice that for the CHI. Is it because the CHI is better? No, it's because Hot Tools manufactures hundreds of items each year. They are an appliance manufacturer, CHI is NOT. Hot Tools owns their own factories and therefore eliminates the middle man. They also have more items to spread their profits over. They don't have to try and make all of their money off of one item.

They both have floating plates which in turn requires less tension on the iron to completely clamp down on the hair.

They Hot Tools iron gets hotter than the CHI by about 20*F. The Hot Tools model has a rheostat so that you can choose the temperature it also has patented Pulse Technology which means,,,,,,it gets HOT and stays HOT!

    How hot are hair straighteners?(C)?

Depends...Some straight Irons are Super Hot, and Some aren't too hot(Like you can leave your hand on it without it burning you.).

Some Straight Irons only go up to 30, Which can be Very hot on some, and not too hot on others...Usually the one's that go up to 250 are super hot.How hot are hair straighteners?(C)?
Hottest temperature in most h.s. is around 200掳C.

Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?

I dyed my hair yesterday and straightened it today and i'm noticing a patch where it's still brown. could the straightener have done this or did i just miss it when i was dying my hair? Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?
you missed it.Can a hair straightener burn the dye out of hair?
No it can't. perhaps the patch was a case of un even dyeing, which used to happen to me. Just make sure you're extra careful %26amp; even when dyeing your hair next time :)
never! u just missed that spot!
Yup, you missed a spot. A straightener has never burned color out of my hair.

go 2 wal-martWhat cheap hair straightener would you recommend for someone who has naturally wavy thick hair?
Cheap straightners are sooooo worth it. Expensive straightners work pretty much the same as cheaper ones.

You should get a Conair striaghtner, they are really good quality and cheap. You can find them at almost any store too.

    I have this straightner/ curling iron (2 in 1):

    http://www.conair-store.com/product_deta/a>

    Here is another cheaper straightener:

    http://www.conair-store.com/product_deta/a>

    T1=CON+CS4JCS

    This straightner is only $15.99

    http://www.conair-store.com/product_deta/a>

You can check out the straightners on one page (ITS REALLY HELPFUL!!!!) Its pretty much all the conair straighteners. Go to conair.com and if the holiday specials pops up click on: skip to conair.com in the top left hand corner. Then go to hair-styling irons- straightners

    You'll se all the straightners

    Hope I helped :)
a revlon one inch wide one. I have the same problem with others and mine works amazingly. and, it is only $25 at target!!! i know, amazing!
Well it's not overly cheap and I'm sorry you said cheap lol but

Bedhead brand is a really good brand

they can be from 40-75 dollars in the US

and im sure they have them in Canada also
well if you have thick hair you should get an expensive one...

    but ion straighteners are good.

    mine was 80.

    from sallys.

a place you've never heard of?
Honestly, it's worth investing in a more expensive one that costs like 60 if your going to use it frequently. It's safer and more efficient.
cheap straighteners are not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they make your hair look fried and damage your hair faster then the good straightener! buy a good one
i have thick wavy hair too and i use a remington and its gr8

What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?

Its called ';COLORFUL SEASONS'; its by HerStyler. Does anyone have it or heard of it. The question is do u like it or is it worth buying? What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?
AAAhhh! i have that straightener, but its purple. You should buy it! Even though its expensive, it is soooo worth it! It takes like 30 seconds to heat up and takes a lot less longer to straighten than my old straightener! Hope I helped! What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?
Dont ever buy those flat irons sold at kiosks at the mall. Normally the quality is horrible, the ceramic plate is just coated, and they damage your hair. Just so you know the reason they seem to work so well is because when someone else is straightening your hair like they do for demonstrations pretty much any iron will work, but if you try it on your own hair to do yourself it wont come out nearly as straight. Visit my website i carry many brands of professional salon flat irons in wide variety of price ranges http://www.kristybeauty.com
Herstyler is such a bad brand. They also have hair extensions, and etc.

For the price, you could get a much better straightener. I've gone to their kiosks in the mall. Really tricky, sneaky people. I don't recommend it.

What is a very good brand of hair straightener?

I bought a random hairstraightener last year and it broke after a few months. This christmas, im going to find a good one. Does anybody know a good hairstraightenr that is not bad for the hair and is less than $100? What is a very good brand of hair straightener?
    chi!

it is amazing! it doesn't damage hair either.

    mine?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?/a>What is a very good brand of hair straightener?
Remington T/STUDIO makes a good one! I got mine at Target. Basically, look for one that says it is ceramic. These are less damaging. Heat can always damage the hair some. But ceramic ones do less damage. Also, find one with a dial on it. Then you are able to choose the level of heat you want. If your hair is fine, choose less heat. If your hair is thick and course, choose a higher setting. You will love the Remington T/STUDIO straightener!
Chi. It is the only flat iron with a ceramic plate. The ceramic plating heats evenly and there for doesn't burn your hair. Other brands say they are ceramic plated, but they have a ceramic spray on them that eventually burns off and then burns your hair. Chi is defiantly the way to go.
I guess chi would be the best for the price, but It is really better just to get a GHD. Sure, it costs more, but I've spend hunnndreds of dollars on all different other hair straighteners and none compare to the GHD. But I haven't tried the chi one.
    GVP hair straightener

like $70 at the most at Sally's Beauty Supply

it leaves your hair like super straight all day long

even when it's kind of humid outside :D

    anyway,

they're basically like the CHI [it's an imitation of it actually]

    it's worth it
If you want a professional Straightener I would go to a hair stylist because they get discounts, but some good ones are Chi, babylus, but I use a Paul Mitchell it works really well.
    CHI for sure

it heats up so fast and its gets really hot

    for def straight hair

    answer mine?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?/a>
Her Styler or Corioliss...It is pure ceramic and doesnt damage your hair and its very quick and stays straightened for the whole dayy.
    chi

my boyfriend got me one for my birthday and its amazing

my hair stylist guarenteed that it was the best straightener on the market!
    HerStyler

heats up to 700 degrees Fahrenheit!

its like 200 dollars but u can get it for 100 or less and makes my hair REALLY soft
Conair and they have pretty colors :)
    chi-- is best.

How can you keep your hair straight without using a hair straightener?

i have naturally curly hair and i like to wear my hair down but not wen its curly. b4 skul i dont have time to straighten my hair so do you have any idea to straighten hair without a hair straightener? How can you keep your hair straight without using a hair straightener?
I have naturally curly hair and what works is when you get out of the shower...put your hair in a tight pony tail and leave it that way until it drys(sleeping in teh pony tail is best!in the morning its staright when u take ur pony tail out)....use as many hair ties as needed to put them all the way down the pony tail...and when it drys it stays straight for about 8 hours.

Good luck...hope this helps! How can you keep your hair straight without using a hair straightener?
OMG i am in the same situation!!!!! i find letting my hair dry abit before i do anything with it helps but also i try and blow dry it that helps. If you want to buy anything theres this blow dryer/straightener which is really good by VS sassoon which straightens your hair heaps while blow drying it you should look into it =] hope it helps
well im an african american with really curly hair and i also find it hard to keep my hair straight. So what i do is wrap my hair around my head with a comb then i apply a scarf around it every night which keeps your hair really straight without needing to apply heat often.
use a good conditioner. pantene extra straight works best for me.

    Hair Straighteners Appliances?

WHAT THE BIG DEAL ABOUT CHI hair straightner when cost 120.00 dollars. The real question is how are you going to get the money to pay for at Target? Are your parents really going to spend that much

It seems like MONEY object to all you girls with CHI posts

I would want to get the best value vs something that may work good the 1 or 2 use and break easily if you don't take care of it.Hair Straighteners Appliances?
Chi's work well, but lots of times people like to think thats the only straightner....

I use a Jil Bere de Paris Tourmaline Series Straightner lol anyways it comes from Sally's and it cost around 80 bucks. It works really well for me and my natural hair is about like corbin bleu's. so yeah....Hair Straighteners Appliances?
have you tried using a chi iron?

While a few of them have defects, most people who take care of their chi irons are pretty satisfied. I have known people to keep their chi straighteners/curling irons for years, and have had no problems with them.

buying a 20 dollar straightener might sound like a good idea, but you won't EVER see a professional using a 20 dollar conair, revlon, or other drug store brands. Why? because

    1. They're made REALLY cheaply, so they fry your hair, which leads to trims. at 20 dollars a trim, every month, your paying 240 dollars to keep your hair from breaking.'

    2. They don't stay hot long enough, which makes the time you need to straighten your hair longer.

    3. They break a LOT faster than the professional irons do.

While i agree with you, there are better irons out there than the chi, but some people have just trusted the brand out of years of ownership. its a personal judgement on whether its a best buy or not, some irons are defective, and others aren't.
get a jilbere with ceramic plates!! i use mine ALL the time and ive dropped it and left it on all day and it still works. my hair doesnt straighten easily (i cant use walmart straighteners) but this works GREAT. its about $70 i think so it is expensive but if you plan to use your straightener much at all it is so worth it. (mine is jilbere definition series)
.. I have the CHI and I have been using it for more then one year.. i drop it a lot and mine has not broke.. I worked for the money I paid it with ??? what is your question
I have had my CHI for 2 years and it still works great.
yeah.....feel the same way ...hope that there can be one that works and is offradable???!!

How much would you pay for a hair straightener?

Is $88.00 to much for one? Becuase I just bought myself one for $88.00 for School. How much would you pay for a hair straightener?
i just bought a $90 one and was worried i paid too much. I absolutely love it and i'm glad a spent a bit more than i usually would for it.How much would you pay for a hair straightener?
is it a professional one? i have a chi and it works great and i got it for $80 off Amazon
if its really good, like the CHI is for 100 something dollars but its really good and protects your hair and everything, but if its a regular damaging-frizzy straightener for 88 dollars, then sorry, but u got ripped off
I don't think I would. My husband bought me one that is worth at least 100 dollars and it doesn't work will. Instead I use one that only cost about 25.00 dollars and it works better than the expensive one. It's a matter of choice. But I won't like to spend so much money on that if a cheaper one does a better job.

What is the best wet to straight hair straightener?

Right now, I have the Chi straightener ..it works alright but it still takes me forever to blow dry and then straighten my frizzy, wavy hair. I'd like a straightener I can use on wet hair so that i can skip blow drying and be done much faster. Does Chi make the best wet to straight hair straightener? Anybody ever use one or another brand? What is the best wet to straight hair straightener?
i sugges conair cheap but works good

but i dot suggest you straighen your hair when wet it will damage your hair emmensly give you dead ends and dry out your hairWhat is the best wet to straight hair straightener?
I actually went from a Chi to a Wal mart Brand straightner. Its wet to straight Hair straightner and it works WAY better than the chi. It leaves ur hair silky and smooth and my Chi made my hair look dry and fried,
i use the instyler it works trust me

Where can i get solia hair straighteners other than folica.com? i'd rather buy from a store...?

u kno, in case i need to take it back for some reason..

thanks!Where can i get solia hair straighteners other than folica.com? i'd rather buy from a store...?
I couldn't find them anywhere except for online but my sister got one from folica.com and she loves it.

What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?

Its called ';COLORFUL SEASONS'; its by HerStyler. Does anyone have it or heard of it. The question is do u like it or is it worth buying? I posted this question already but only got 2 answers.

What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?
i actually got one about this time last year. it work great. it gets super hot really fast and dosnt damage your hair. your hair will stay straight for hours! it's on of the best for the price. they also come in a ton of diff. colors

What do you guys think about the hair Straightener they sell at the mall?
YES! I know what you're talking about! I purchased this straightner from a kiosk at the mall about three weeks ago. If I were you, I wouldn't buy it. I've had it about three weeks already, and the plates are already burned. I only straighten my hair about three times a week, too. I got the zebra one, and when I took it out of the package it looked like some of the stripes were worn off. About last week I was straightning my hair and I realized that the plates were already turning brown and it's starting to turn the plastic part of my straightner brown also. Also, when I straighten my hair, the straightner itself burns your hands. And to be honest, I think my hair is getting more fried (I don't know if it just FEELS that way because its winter time?) But I would highly recommend saving the $100 and buying a CHI. They are much much better for your hair.

EDIT: I don't dye my hair either, so the plates have no reason to turn brown.

Also, the Wet 2 Straight is an AMAZING straightner.
    OMG!

I totally used to have this straightener! They do work really well but they are really expensive.

Mine also got broken. :/ my friend tripped over the cord and it fell on tile and the strightening plates shattered. So just be really careful with them becasue they can break easily.

But i would recommend getting a Remmington Wet 2 Straight they are amazing! :D i love it even better than i liked the colorful seasons one. PLUS they are ony 30 dollars!
OMG!!!! I bought that! I have the red one!! It's soooo amazing and worth your money. I love love love it. My hair is naturally curly and I straighten my hair almost everyday. I think it's just as good as a chi which I have used both. Also it has ceramic plates so it dosen't fry your hair. I love it. I would so buy it.
my friend has that straightener and she likes it. it does a pretty good job. i like it but i don't if i would buy it. i might get a straightener called baby bliss! that one is greatness. you can buy it at tony and cao.

    hope that helped!
I have a Herstyler but I dont think its the Colorful Seasons one. Herstyler is a really great straightiner it works very well and stays all day! I love my Herstyler and I would reccomend u getting it!! It is worthh the money defanitly! =]]
Ive never heard of it but i'm sure it's expensive.

If you want to know if it's worth buying ask for a sample like straightening a lock of your hair, then you can decide if it's worth it.
I never heard of it. But try it out at the mall! If it works great, thats awesome! I just stick to my T3, ghd, and CHI straighteners.
I don't know about that one but I know that the CHI straightner is awesome. It's the one they use at salons so it is really good quality and worth it!

    hope this helped :)
Oh my gosh, it worked perfectly on my hair when they showed me but for some reason it like wont work on my hair when i use it!
yes it heard of it and my friend has it... it works great
well my friend bought it and it broke within the first month

What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?

Besides the temperature and how it lasts? Because I've used cheaper straighteners(from walmart, target, etc.) for the past 5 years and i've never had problems with them frying my hair. The cheaper ones also heat up to high temps(400F) in about 45 seconds and they seem to last around a good 3 years... So what does a chi have that others don't, besides a high price? What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?
Higher quality ceramic plates. But if you have hair that doesn't fry out with the cheap ones then go with those. I have hair that frys easily so I use a chi, but plenty of my friends use normal ones and have great hair. It all depends on the girl. What is so special about a Chi hair straightener?
I agree with the first response. I am also asking the same question myself. Like she said, if the cheap ones don't damage your hair, keep using them. An educated response: If your hair keeps getting damaged by cheap flat irons, try Chi.

  • How do you curl hair with a hair straightener?

I bought a straightener today and it said on the box that it was a ';straightener and a curler'; how do you curl hair using a straightener? How do you curl hair with a hair straightener?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xfXj42_v/a>

search it on youtube and a whole bunch of videos will show up.How do you curl hair with a hair straightener?

    Step1

Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or styling spray to clean, damp hair and blow dry until completely dry. Your curls will form better and last longer with the aid of good quality hair products.

    Step2

Clip your hair back in multiple sections. Release one section and brush or comb it to remove any knots or tangles. Spray lightly with a soft-hold hairspray if your hair is very fine and doesn't hold curls well.

    Step3

Begin with the undersection of your hair, working your way up to the top. Twist a small section of your hair with your hands for spiral curls, or take a flat, larger section for loose curls.

    Step4

Open the curling iron by pressing the lever and insert your hair. Close the curling iron barrel on your hair, making sure that all of the ends of that section are completely enclosed in the barrel.

    Step5

Roll the iron up and hold it for about 10 seconds.

    Step6

Open the curling iron and release the curls. Proceed with other sections until all areas have been curled.

    Step7

Flip your head and shake out the curls, then style your hair with your fingers.

    Step8

Spray with a light hold hair spray to keep your curls in place. For humid climates use a humidity resistant hair spray.
They have millions of those videos on YouTube.

Just type in ';curl hair with flat iron';. It's really easy!
go to youtube and type that ? in and there are videos showing you how.

    good luck!

Which is the best hair straightener to buy?

I already have a VS straightener but it was only $40, my hair frizzes when i use it and it doesn't have top quality results. I was thinking about getting a GHD but i was wondering if there was a straightener that was a little bit cheaper but still has maximum results? My hair is wavy/ curly.Which is the best hair straightener to buy?
    CHI

they are amazing personally they last longer and are better than GHD

also they come in cute designs

i have the pink chi limited edition

lee how would you know it last for 7 days do you not shower just wondering

hope i helpedWhich is the best hair straightener to buy?
try a silver bullet hair straightener, they're probabley the next best thing they can be a bit pricey to but still cheaper than GHD. i use a Diva hair straightener its great. although i have thick long hair the thinner straighteners work better than the big chunky ones. (not sure but i was told that GHD make Diva)
Well i have GHD's and i wouldn't recommend another straightener. They're excellent as you only need to use them like twice to get really straight hair.. whereas with cheaper ones, users tend to claw away to get straight hair which is really bad for the condition.

GHD's last for ages so they are worth the money. Also if they do brake you can take them back if the guarantee is still in tact. If the guarantee runs out... you can send them back to ghd and they repair them normally free of charge. Win win!
GHD I think its the best.
Ask your local Salon etc. if you want as different straighteners suit better hair...

Yes, GHD is pretty good but quite pricey but if you are going to buy one don't buy the strangely cheap ones, they're probably knock-offs.

Go to your local HomeLiving Store.. Like Briscoes, they have a good range there. I have a Worthington one, it's pretty good.

Oh yea, and wait for sales so you can buy top quality ones at cheaper prices :)
    CHI
you can straighten it with the new instyler. its a rotating iron that curls, straightens, and makes many styles for your hair. http://getinstyler.com/tips.html . and it does NOT harm your hair. it can give shine and body. it not only straightens your hair it also brushes it so its smooth. other straighteners just flatten/crushes/smooshes your hair. and to get it is to get the 30 day trial (14.99). but here is the thing it costs: three monthly payments of $39.99. nothing from vs or remington will give you sleek salon results. id definitely recommend the ghd. i bought it just over a year ago after years of using cheap $50 straighteners (which completely ruined and damaged my hair beyond repair), and people instantly noticed the difference. plus the ghd is better for your hair because it helps seal in the moisture, which means your hair wont frizz out or flick out.
ghd straightens ur hair and makes it last for 7 whole days.

Can you bring a hair straightener in your carry on bag on the plane?

I'm just going on a quick weekend trip and don't want to check my bag in when I just have a little bag.Can you bring a hair straightener in your carry on bag on the plane?
A hair straightener would not be considered possibly hazardous so you can put it in your carry on baggage. It can be xrayed with no problem. Can you bring a hair straightener in your carry on bag on the plane?
I think that all liquids (make-up, hairspray, etc...) can only be in 3oz containers (travel size) and must be put in a quartz size clear ziplock bag and must fit comfortably (not jammed packed full of stuff). At least, that's how it was when I flew in Nov. Check the TSA website for more info.
Why not just straighten your hair before you leave?
mostlikely not. they don't even let u have big shampoo bottles

    Recommendations on hair straighteners?

I'm looking to buy a flat iron to straighten my hair. What do u recommend? What's the best?

Would be grateful for any advice/suggestion.

    ThanksRecommendations on hair straighteners?
ConAir Ceramic Iron is the best it heats up extremely fast and is really great. after you flat iron it use smooth and silk hair polish to give it a shine. Recommendations on hair straighteners?
Normally I stick to inexpensive brands you can find in the drugstore, but my $125 Sedu flat iron was worth every penny! Drugstore flat irons such as Conair never kept my hair straight all day. But my Sedu is wonderful -- it keeps my hair straight even in humidity or misty rain if I wipe the rain off my hair when I get inside! My hair is also super shiny and stays straight until I wash it (or if it just gets drenched with rain)!

Just make sure you use a heat protectant product when you flat iron your hair to avoid extra damage! :)
The chi straightners are amazing. They're about $100 but they are totally worth the investment! They last forever (I've had mine for 2 yrs and it works just as good as it did when I bought it) and take about 5 seconds to heat up.

Since they heat up quickly and at a high tenperautre make sure u use a heat protection product on ur hair prior to straightning.

    Good luck!
Go for a chi or herstyler forever, I got one and my sister got the other and they are great!!!! we have a lot of hair, also very long and it takes me about 20 min. to finish my hair (no blow drying) the both go up to 380 - 400F
A CHI straightener is the best straightener I have came across so far. I have really thick and VERY curly hair with lots of frizz added--ha ha.

What is the best hair straightener/ flat iron out there?

I straighten my hair everyday and I'd like to find the best flat iron that I can buy. Thanks! What is the best hair straightener/ flat iron out there?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Remington, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap drugstore brands that tend to cause hair damages. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

    Okay.

Use a troy flat iron you can get them @ Sephora, Ulta, etc. Also dont put it on the highest setting, you should put it on the lowest or medium to get rich soft hair not frizzy messy hair. You could put Got2B Crazy Sleek flat iron gel in it and then when you are done put in a L'Orel Shine Lock Spray 2 keep it looking great! :)
Actually , if you want your hair straight at wal*mart in the hair dye section they have this thing called ';Straightener'; and its like a perm but it straightens your hair ... it really works. Also i use a little flat iron instead of the big ones. So instead of straightening your hair everyday use this stuff and it lasts up 2 a month. For best results use little flat iron after your done using the straightener
I was looking for a straightener for like weeks and honestly what helped me the most was folica.com; this site has customer reviews which helps a lot and have a look on the best straightener list. After looking at folica.com I decided to buy a Sedu straightener..it was costly but I have been using it for 2 months now and I absolutely love it. So I would def recommend sedu and ask u to go to that website.

ALL the GHD range. Without a doubt. All hair dressers use them, in fact all the ones i no do.

To buy them cheaper look on Ebay they have loads of new ones not just used.

The have a range to fit everyone i would get the GHD mark 4 (IV) ones there the best for straightning and curling but the fatter ones if u like just straighting your hair. there great. x

Can I make my hair straightener work better?

I don't want to go out and buy a new one, this one works okay, but near my part its still wavy. Anything I can do?Can I make my hair straightener work better?
well what i do is that i have my straightener on and I'll have it on my hair for like 5 seconds then i slowly get down and my hair is really wavy so it works for meCan I make my hair straightener work better?
Buy The thermal protector spray by CHI.

Protects and makes your hair straighter.
Add sunsilk straighten up it's the BOMB. HAHA it worrkkss really goodd thoughh.
Sunsilk straighten up! It's really good..sometime straigteners go bad..so you have to buy a new one. I can't even count the number of straighteners i've gone through in my life!

Also, if you want super straight hair you can literally use an iron. Keep it on a low setting and don't hold it on your hair too long but it gets hair stick straight
It's uncomfortable, but you have to hold the straightener and press in really close, as close as you can get, to the roots of your scalp, and very SLOWLY slide it down. Also, what kind of hair straightener is it? I know you say you don't want to buy a new one, but some of them just don't get hot enough. Chi is great.

Also, I always spray on leave in conditioner before straightening (like Loreal or Chi, or Retro Hair)...it works wonders for eliminating frizz with the heat, and getting the hair to co-operate.

  • What is the best hair STRAIGHTENER out there?

I have medium frizzy curly hair. I have been researching different straightners because mine is finally giving out : (. Price doesn't really matter because i would pay a million in a half dollars for a straightner that got the job done QUICKLY. In the past I have had both CHI straightners and SEDU straightners but with both it still takes a while. Are there any brands that you think are better. What models work the best? Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL.What is the best hair STRAIGHTENER out there?
GHD. They RRP in Australia for around $300 but you can get authentic ones on E-Bay for about $240. They literally take seconds to heat up to about 300 degrees celsius and have ceramic plates. My hair is seriously frizzy and really curly, but once dry (naturally, not with blow dryer), it takes me about 30 mins to straighten my hair to perfection. What is the best hair STRAIGHTENER out there?
    Oh my goodness.

I have long, bushy, frizzy, curly hair. It is miles thick, tangles up easily, and puffs at the hint of humidity.

But my friend found a straightener at the mall being sold at one of those little booths that is rented out to people.

An expensive straightener at about $80 usd, but she used it on my hair, and my was pin straight for DAYS. It took her about an hour to do my hair.

It was sooo soft, NO frizz, only a little bit of curling at the ends after I slept on it.

...but I can't remember the name.

I can totally call my friend in the morning and ask her, because whenever I go back to the mall I am definitely getting one.

It heats up to 415 F, which is the hottest any straightener I've seen go.

Also, I recommend a product called ';Ringlet'; it is a cream, you put in your hair after washing and towel drying. It helps the frizz.
I have a 1'; CHI. Its probably not the straighter that doesn't get the job done fast. It's probably the way your doing your hair.

Pin your hair up like in a half up half down kinda thing. Flat iron the hair that's out of the pony tail, and slowly let down more and more hair until its all straight.

And make sure your using good thermal protection! Treseme makes some shampoo and conditioner and a spray that is all very reasonably priced.

I personally use CHI products, but a tiny little bottle is $19.99
i have sedu and its meh really nothig special. and the chi is good but its breaks after a year so take good care. the only frustrating part is the sedu straightner is hot. so i liek to grip the straightner by the handle and the very opposite tip of the straightner for control, u can do this for chi but the sedu will burn u. so chi its reliable
Even though you said you've had CHI, I swear by it. Maybe you just need to buy a larger straightener. My roommate has super curly hair and she bought the biggest CHI she could find. It still takes her longer to straightener her hair than I do (I have straight hair already, it just gets a little unruly) but she says its better than any other straightener shes used.
GHD's!!!!!!!!!! def the best, also invest in some de frizzing serum and a heat blocker so the heat from, the straightener doesn't wreck your hair as much, you can pick them up on ebay pretty cheap, but make sure its from a legit company. They come in pink and white too!!!!!
my hair is very thick, half wavy, half straight.

i have found this straightener from conair that has a comb in it that runs through your hair as you straighten it, it works really fast because it straightens large sections.

i have a CHI and i use my 40 dollar conair straightener ever it.
i have thick curly waist long hair and i absoulutely love using the GHD hairstraightner!! its brilliant. highly recommended. it keeps my hair straight for days on end untill it gets wet %26gt; . %26lt; '; shine is beautiful and doesnt go stiff and keeps silky.

    good luck in your search

I really love the Tigi Bed Head Light Me Up straightener :)

What is a good hair Straightener that straitens and curls hair?

i need something that could curl my hair, and other times straiten it, i herd about CHI but i want to know if there is any better kinds. What is a good hair Straightener that straitens and curls hair?
I use Sedu. I heard it is better than CHI. I been using Sedu for 5 months now and I loveee it! I have wavy, frizzy hair and this iron makes all the frizz go away! People always think I just came out of the salon. The iron can create straight hair and curl it also. It's a bit pricey (120.00) but definitely worth it!

I bought it from Folica website: http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_r1/a>

Check out the reviews if you want ;)What is a good hair Straightener that straitens and curls hair?
I definitely suggest CHI as you stated because it is ceramic and wont damage your hair as the other straighteners will. Also, CHI curls very well. I use it and it makes beautiful spiral curls. I went to Polaris Mall and there was a ';station'; for CHI straighteners and it works amazing the guy showed me how to curl (take a piece of hair turn the straightener in and pull it towards you) and then it is so good that then you can regularly straighten that same strip and it is perfectly straight. This is just a suggestion, hope it helps! ( you can also get it in pink)!

What is a great hair straightener that wont do alot of damage?

Hi im 13 and after like 3 years i finally convinced my mom to let me get a straightener but i want to use it like atleast a couple times a month and i dont want to damage my hair too much. i already bought a heat protectant spray. what BRAND, TYPE, AND STORE shud i buy my straightener from?? please give detailsWhat is a great hair straightener that wont do alot of damage?
Sedu. I have curly hair and had been using a cheap flat iron. It was giving me hair breakage and drying my hair out. I bought the Sedu hair straightener a few months ago. It is easy to use, leaves my hair shiny and ';dead straight'; within 5 minutes of use (after blow drying). What is a great hair straightener that wont do alot of damage?
Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist uses. I've tried many flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).
CHI! the best ever. they don't damage hair because they use ceramic plates. makes your hair so soft you won't even believe it! i can't even explain to you how great the straightener is. they are quite expensive tho, if you buy them in salons, which is only where i've seen them in a store. but if you search around onl ine, you can find them for way cheaper.
    all of them do
no such thing? Apart from setting your heat temperature to low.
    GHD

i swear by them, they r ceramic over metal or plated so they wont damage your hair,

alot of hairdressers use them so you can bu them fro there or hair shops like price attack etc,

    dont buy cheap metal ones!!

and be careful not to burn your hair or pull it too tight
well, just look for a hair straightener that is made of CERAMIC. or a Tourmaline.. jus look for a quality product.

Well, at the moment i have a Conair hair straightener which doesn't work well at all. I went to target today and saw this pink Revlon hair straightener, and thought maybe i should waite a few more days to make sure i want to spend money on it. But my question is, are any of the Revlon hair straighteners good at all? if not could some one please suggest a good hair straightener besides something expensive like the Chi.

Thanks! ^.^What is the best hair straightener for a cheaper price?

Hot tools, E-bay, awsome seller called ';beautycityprosupply';. Has awsome flat irons for cheap, less than $50.00 and they work awsome. I always buy from her and continue to buy the new ones from her. Reasonable shipping and very fast to receive.
I just use a Revlon one that I got at wal-mart for 20.00 and I think that works just great!!! It is black and is wide where the plates are. It heats up fast, and straightens really well. You don't have to buy expensive to get what you are looking for. My hair is fine and wavy, so it takes forever to dry and style by the way!
i heard the new conair dryer with the comb attachment works really well.

What is the best hair straightener and hair curler that is good in value, in price, in lasting a long time and in shops not the internet. What is a good hair straightener and hair curler?
    conair, remmington, vidal sasoon.

the person who said GHD is sort of wrong because that not really good in value, its really expensive. What is a good hair straightener and hair curler?
Ive got a matching pair of hair curlers and straighteners they are really good they barely damage your hair at all and they work really well. They also heat up super fast. They are called Baby Curlz (curlers) and the hair straighteners are the same make, the company is called ';Herstyler'; They give you perfect curls and all my friends have now bought them because of my hair! (lol) At the stalls they set up around shopping centres (you would have to find out where) they are 拢80 which is quite a lot but on the internet (Amazon and Ebay) you can get them for 拢40 - 拢50. They are honestly worth that money espicially the curlers.
GHD's are great hair straightener's. They heat up super fast, give longlasting straightness, automatically shutdown if it hasnt been used for 30mins and is an all round awesome straightener! Not too sure on a hair curler though, sorry.
For 45-50 Bucks,Which is a fantastic price,It's Remington,It's called my salon,It works really great! And i think the price is fantastic!

What's the cheapest hair straightener that actually works?

Right now I have a Conair one, that I bought for like 20 bucks %26amp; it straightens my hair for about 20 minutes and then my hair starts flipping out again. I've tried straightening products that dont work.

My hair is pretty straight, it just flips out on the ends %26amp; it can get kinda poofyish, and I just straighten it to make it nice and sleek.

Any suggestions would help. Thanks (xWhat's the cheapest hair straightener that actually works?
Remington Teflon Fiber!!! it reduces damage by 50% and works soooo wellWhat's the cheapest hair straightener that actually works?
Style IQ from Sally Beauty Supply is what I use in my salon and it's about 40 dollars. I love it!
Go to Marshalls or TJ maxx and they have all the high end straighteners there! i bought one called the CHI ceramic and it worked miracles on my kinky curly hair!!! and i paid 40$ and my friend paid 120$ for hers and ours are identical! SO that would be my best advice t you and ask around and then go to the store and see what they have and do your hw on the ones that caught your eye. it will be money well saved and spent since you wont be paying full price!

What hair straightener would be right for me?

I have thick hair.. very thick that doesn't stay straight when I use my straightener. It is good for an hour or so but never stays straight. This is even when I don't put my hair up or do anything.

Any suggestions for not too expensive flat irons? I've been looking at Target but I'm not sure yet..

Thanks so much! What hair straightener would be right for me?
If you don't want to spend 100+ on a Chi or GHD, I would recommend the straightener I use. It is the Remington Sleek and Curl Flat Iron. It is only $35 at Target. It is amazing! Make sure you use heat protectant and hairspray. Hope This Helps! :DWhat hair straightener would be right for me?
a chemical straightner is supposed to get your hair really straight
    use conair.

i have the Infinity and its red and i have thick hair to and it really works.

i think target has it but i know cvs does and it in like 30 bucks.
the large ghd is the best option and ceramic plates so it keeps your hair straighter for longer use anti frizz shampoo you can buy ghd's in your local hair dressers or online but they can be pricey

Well i have like really thick curly hair and i have a Chi Global Beauty straightener and it works really good everywhere. What hair straightener works best for bangs %26amp; curling hair?
I use a ConAir one and it's GREAT. It heats up in like 30 seconds.

If you want the BEST hair straightener, I recommend a Chi Straightener. You can get them at Target or a salon (I'm not sure if you can find them anywhere else). They're $100 but I recommend ConAir if $100 is too much.
sure people will tell you chi this and chi that but i prefer a perfectly capable reflon dual curler and straightener. just use plenty of hair serum to keep that moisture locked into your hair so it doesn't break or become damaged at the ends. good luck to you sweet heart

i have a vidal sassoon straightener and it was only $20-25. its black and has gold plates. it works great and there is no difference between the expensive ones and its cheaper counterparts. What is a good brand of hair straightener for not a bad price?
A good hair straightener will last only 2 years on average.

I spent 150 on the one I had before this and when it broke I was so pissed (being low on money and needing this). So I did some research and went on Sally beauty supplies site and found ';GVP';.

Honestly...I've tried Chi's and a Fhi as well as some babyliss's and conairs but this one I just got works surprisingly better than those.

Things to take note of when you're buying a hair straightener are:

    - How high does the heat go? (Higher the better)

    - What are the plates made of? (FULL ceramic is best)

    - Will my hair get caught on edges of the straightener? (Chi and Fhi don't have this problem since the plate is rounded at the end where other ones have a straight edge and that will mess up your hair badly)

    - Price

The GVP goes up to 410F (adjustable heat)

From what i've read and what I see it's full ceramic

It's rounded like the chi and feels like it too

I bought mine on sale just last week from sally's for 80 bucks

My hair is bleached almost white so it's damaged to hell...and it looks ';Nappy'; if I don't treat it...but when I use this straightener it makes it look and feel normal (Normal is a big step for me) considering my hair is almost dead and about to fall out.
well the revlon is amazing, its black %26amp; purple .

it is great on all hair types and honestly works better than a chi .

    its about $50 .

    than there is another one the ';wet 2 straight';

from walmart for like $30 also works great .

if you straighten your hair with it when its dry instead of wet, it will

work wonders on your hair ..

    trust me (:
I really recommend WIGO europe flat irons. They work really well and have been compared to CHIs.

Have you made sure that it's not too late to return your CHI, I think they have like a 2 year warranty.
    Conair Shine flatiron. :)

My friend has really curly hair and she uses it and it makes her hair stick straight.

    answer mine?

I have owned many CHIs and I love them, but one time I had no choice, so I went to the store to get a straightener. I got a Conair, and it works pretty well. I hope this helps.
Hot Tools is cheaper than all those named above (as far as I know, it also depends what kind you get - ceramic or not) but they work pretty well %26amp; stylists use them often.
    I have sedu

it's not exactly cheap, but it works wonders.

What is the best kind of hair straightener?

There are too many brands of hair straighteners and I just want to buy one that is worth the money. I want one that gives good results. What is the best kind of hair straightener?
Well, for Christmas I got one called a Fhi. It works really really well. I have thick hair that usually takes an hour or more to straighten, but with the Fhi, I'm done in 20 minutes flat. I have one of the professional series that usually run for near 200 bucks, but my mom bought it off e-bay for 80! It's worth every single penny, and is better than even the Chi. It gets hot super fast and maintains a constant temp. It goes from 175 all the way up to 425.

Great straightener, really. My hair dresser has a Chi that she uses on my hair when I get it done there, but it takes longer and isn't even as straight as I can get it with my Fhi, by myself.

    Hope this helps!!

Oh, and don't buy the Fhi from Target or Ulta, it's an Fhi but they aren't as good for some reason. e-bay is your best bet for a good Fhi straightener at a good price.

Good luck! [=What is the best kind of hair straightener?
The best one would be a Chi. I have tried many different straighteners and this is what I have found. All the store brands work, but over time they begin to damage your hair. They give you split ends and pull hair out. I have Hot Tools straightener right now, but it is still nothing compared to a Chi. They last a long time and do not cause damage to your hair. As soon as I can afford it, I will buy a Chi myself.
Don't listen to others. CHI stinks. You'll be wasting all your money because it breaks after a while. it does straight well but what is the point of spending all that money if it is going to break. I would recommend Solia. Solia works amazing. Check Folocia it compares Solai to CHI and Solia wonby a lot of points. I have Solia and it doesn't cost a lot but it works amazing.
I know everyone's going to say Chi...but I have a Rusk and it works just as well, and it fits in your hand so much better, as well as you can change the heat from about 250 to 450 degrees. But if you get a straightener, get heat protection spray and heat protection shampoo and conditioner.
    I have a CHI and I love it;

    -doesn't pull hair

-styles (straight, spiral curl, wave, etc..)

    -doesn't damage my hair

    -automatic shut off

i recommend using a heat protection spray for on your hair, so the high heat on any type of iron or blow dryer doesn't fry your ends. plus it smells good. (:

    hope this helped. (:
CHI! its amazing, and hte best at a fair price without going overboard... sure GHD is the best, but who wants to pay 300 dollars on a hair tool that u will wanna replace in a year? Chi works just as well, heats up super quick, leaves hair silky, sof, and stick straight, and for only a third of the cost!
I have a CHI and Solia.

    The Solia is better.

You should really get the Solia,

it gets your hair very straight.

    (I straighten my hair everyday)

Solia can curl your hair too.

What is a good low price hair straightener?

I have medium length hair, never dyed and not really damaged. i've only straightened my hair once.

I was wondering what is a good, low price (not more than 30) hair straightener that i could get. What is a good low price hair straightener?
try ulta... they have the mini straightners for 19.99What is a good low price hair straightener?
The best straightner under 30 bucks that I have had is the Remington Wet to Straight. I've had for a few years and it still works good. It straightens your hair when wet but I always straighten it when dry because it looks the best. It really does make your hair look smooth and shiny and it is fast.
i don't know if ill help or not cause i had a straightner that was great, but i can't remember what the name of it was. although, everytime i went to target it was there and its black %26amp; yellow. it heats up quick, its straightens well and i loved it. hope i helped, sorry..
I got a hot tools straightner that works great its around 30 to 40 bucks, ive had it since i was 13....im 22 now. haha so its lasted me a long time and its amazing. They sale them usually in the mall where ever they sale hair products.
the infiniti by conair is pretty cheap. or go to walgreens. sallys beauty supply has the generic versions of the Chi for around $40 when a normal Chi is around $120
Go to walmart, and by a remington wet to straight hair straightner. It sounds cheap, but I have beyond thick hair and it works so well
Sorry but there isn't any *good* ones that are under 30 bucks.

What is good brand for a hair straightener?

I live in Florida and have very curly hair. It's humid down here a lot so I need one that works really well. My hair always looks fine when I first straighten it and then by the end of the day it is curly or frizzy. Any suggestions??What is good brand for a hair straightener?
The CHI hair straightners are very good, but they are a a little expensive. I used to have the same problem with my hair, but the CHI really helped. What is good brand for a hair straightener?
Paul Mitchell--they have specific products to keep your hair protected from humidity. However, you need more than just a good straigtener, you also need good products. Paul Mitchell has it all...try the ';Super Skinny'; collection, including Shampoo, Conditioner, Smoothing Serum, and a few others.

Be warned--if you want your hair to be perfectly straight, it's going to be costly. Also, straightening often damages your hair. You might want to try a curl booster instead. It will keep your curls bouncy and frizz-free. You can find products like this at your local drug store.

    Hope this helped... :)
i'm in fl, too. GHD is good, its expensive, $200, but its the only one I know that shuts itself off when not being used. Also, chi is good, but doesnt turn itself off. They can be a fire hazard.
You probably need a good hairspray to control the frizz.

GHD's are a good brand of straighteners but they stay constantly on a high heat. FHI's are just as good and they have heat control
i have a CHI straightener and it is amazing! lol you should also try using CHI straightening products to keep the frizz or curls down
CHI straightners and GHD are AHMAZING:)
