Can GHD Mk 3 hair straighteners be used abroad (Europe)?

There are lots of adverts about the new MK4 version saying how it can be used abroad - does this mean that the older version doesn't work? Can GHD Mk 3 hair straighteners be used abroad (Europe)?
no, it probably means the new version has adaptable sockets so u can easily plug it in if ur in europe. if u want to use ur hair straighteners in europe all u need is a plug adapter for europe. u can buy them in most hardware shops and all they are is a plug by itself that can fit into a european socket and u can plug ur stuff into it as well. it basically acts like a bridge, theres no reason y u couldnt use ur straighteners abroad.

remember europe doesnt have a universal socket for plugging stuff in, you'll need to get a specific socket for the specific country. Can GHD Mk 3 hair straighteners be used abroad (Europe)?
Well if you're going to Europe you will have to take a plug adapter as your straighteners will have 3 pins but the majority of countries in Europe only have 2 pin plug sockets. You can buy different types of adapter, you need one of the ones that has 2 pins or you could buy a multi functional adapter. (Check the country though for the number of pins and the shape i.e. round or square etc to make sure). They're not too expensive just go to a hardware or DIY store they should have them. Then when you get to Europe plug the adapter into the socket and then plug your straighteners into the adapter and it'll work fine. Just be careful in Europe though some plug sockets can be unsafe. Last time I went to Greece the fuse blew out all our electric in the apartment when I plugged in an insect repellent adapter. It was fixed easily though. I have the MK4 version now but I have used the MK3 and older versions abroad before. Just don't leave it plugged in or let it over heat.

P.S. As V said the electrical output is greater in some foreign countries. I think you can buy adapters now which control the amount of voltage coming out of the sockets. Ask in store though for more details.
well i dont know what kind of straightener that is

but i had a CHI

and it broke in Europe

because the outlets are more powerful
