Hair straighteners not working properly?

I have some Remington wet2straight straighteners (not the wide ones) i have had them about nearly 2yrs they have been good, but lately when i switch them on, they have not been coming on, i noticed the wire near the plug was loose, so i undid the plug and fixed it, they were ok for about 2 weeks but they have started doing it again, when i switch them on the red light on them keeps going on and off, i have to keep whiggerling the wire to make them work, also with my straighteners i always used to wrap the wire round them when i had finished using them, do you think this has made them go funny over the course of time, im thinking do i have to get some new ones and not sure what ones to go for?Hair straighteners not working properly?
Hi it could deffianly be the wire and I have learnt from this and never wrap the wire round the hair straightener as there too dear to waste. I would get someone else to have a look at them as it could just be the wire keeps on coming loose and might just need a new piece or some how fixing into place.

If the wet2straight straightners are the ones you use and you use them from wet, then I would just go with the same ones as you might not like to have to blow dry your hair first before you use the straightener, But if you just use them on dry hair anyways the I would deffiantly got for GHDS they are the best ones you can have. I have got the wet2straight slim ones and I dont like them much as I think they pull loads. I have tried nearly every type of hair straightener out there and the only ones that are woth the money are GHDS.Hair straighteners not working properly?
It sounds like the flat iron is broken. You should buy a new one...the same brand since you have had success with it. I have seen this particular model at all discount department stores like K-Mart, Walmart and Target.
that happened with a set of my straightners i finnished up getting a new set as i think the internal cable must have been damaged.
If you are a christain, just pray to God the day before you go to the supermarket. If you believe in miracles it will work for you.Always have faith in God, with him all things are possible.
sounds like the wire is damaged id get some new ones if i were you
get some ghd's they aint that expensive
Don't play with electricity and dont attempt to fix things if you dont know 100% what u r doing.......buy a new one.....
The same thing happened to myself and i figured it was the wire, however if the straighteners were covered under manufacture guarantee (some up to 3 yrs) i would have sent it back to the manufactures and complained that it was faulty (without mentioning i wrap the wire around the straighteners) before attempting to buy a new one.

Good Luck!
sounds like a broken internal wire with all the twisting.

Get yourself a set of GHD's
maybe it's just old

if you straighten your hair a lot I would invest in a more expensive straightener such as a chi, the wet2straight straightener only has a ceramic coating, and if its old the ceramic coating has probably worn away, and that'll cause a lot of damage to your hair.

Chi's come in a lot of different (and cute!) colors, and they range from 100-130, however you could probably find them on sale for less.
