Do Wet-to-dry hair straighteners damage your hair?

How much damage do they cause?

Mine says it has vents on the side to stop damage and is ceramic. I tried it on a piece of hair and I could hear sizzling, though, so I don't know how good that is. Should I use the wet-to-dry heat or just play it safe and use only dry?Do Wet-to-dry hair straighteners damage your hair?
i heard they don't work anyway. it doesnt matter wat straightener you use, if you overheat your hair you are damaging it. BTW the sizzling was the water in your hair being boiled and evaporatingDo Wet-to-dry hair straighteners damage your hair?
I have a straightener like that and mine works great. for wet or dry hair, and if it has vents then there should be lots of steam, if its sizzling don't really worry about that unless it changes your hair color or your hair starts to get hard or really frizzy all the time. Straighteners only damage your hair if you use them way too much when you don't need to or if the heat is up too high, i have one that protects my hair from getting fried, because it can sense it, but mine was $120. So they can get expensive if you want a good one.
mine says the sizzle is normal but i don't like it either. :]

it wont damage your hair any more or less than a regular straightener would...i have a remington wet to straight and it works great when my hair is dry (on highest temperature), but it doesnt really work when my hair is wet. i have to do it once to dry it then again to straighten it. but for dry hair, it is the best working straightener i've used.
it doesn't damage it per say, but unless you put some sort of leave in conditioner or protective spray or gel at the least, it will smell like burning hair, b/c it is burning ur hair. but as long as u use some sort of product u will be fine. : )
I find, that even if it isnt bad for your hair, wet to straight makes my hair go really fly-away and messy looking anyway so i prefer drying it first, if your bothered invest in some good heat protection spray :)
