What is the best way to clean GHD hair straighteners?

Having just got my first GHDs and been told by a friend that it is important to clean them I want to know how best to do this, what to use etc. Thanks!What is the best way to clean GHD hair straighteners?
Never put a chemical solvent on your flat iron.





Try heating your flat iron, turn off and when still warm rub with a warm cloth, The heat of the iron will make it a little easier to clean.

You must only use a flat iron on clean,dry hair.


If you use a leave in conditioner or a straightening serum, of course some residu will be on your hair flat iron, while still warm, clean as above after every use. I just do it now as part of the drill after I use my GHDs and the iron shines like day one. Mine is now close to 2 years old.What is the best way to clean GHD hair straighteners?
Just use baby wipes! It's what i do, just slide the baby wipe across the plates and then leave them to dry before turning your GHD's on, it'll make them glide smoothly through your hair.
I use alcohol wipes for them. Just rub the little wipe up and down the plates of the flat iron while its turned off of course.
baby wipes or a damp towel,anything else will damage the plates!!!
