we had to run round in bottle green knickers in the snow , and nobody would dream of moaning , mind you our lady pe teacher had a Moustache so she looked a tad scary

I'm sure they could boost physical education if you threatened to shove them up their @rses. Why are they letting them ( bloody kids for gods sake) become so image obsessed? It's the wrong message totally!
The girls that will want to use them I can guarantee, won't be the ones making any exertions anyway - they will be the ones who cry every time a ball hits them.
Grr. PE is all about 'street dance' and crap like that now they don't even know what an athletic track looks like. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Fran - lol 21 is ANCIENT now ;) My daughter is in year 8 and in year 7 never once stood on an athletics track or ran around the field. She did street dance ( lolol she's into emo type crap so can you imagine how thrilled she was to be forced to move to Beyonce) They did trampolining also. They have gone too far in making it 'fun' where's the pain and humiliation ??? lol. Love the rest of your points btw.
Haz, I'm only 21 %26amp; my PE wasn't like that. I wish it was!! If we misbehaved we had to run around the park opposite the school! None of this hair straightening rubbish.
It's amazing how much it's changed!
There were showers but no curtains so we never used em but when the new pe teacher started she got curtains fitted and provided us each with a flannel and body wash. Things like that are worthwhile but straighteners?! That's just vanity and they are not helping towards a positive image.
If they had a positive self image then they wouldn't need straighteners and straighteners should not be the source of a positive image!!
Argh it frustrates me so much. I work with kids and try to promote the idea of natural beauty and then schools install straighteners?!
Blame the 30 something marketing execs from our generation for heaping all that pressure on them. Kids commited suicide over bullying about less than this. It's a nasty bullying competitive world they are growing up in. Walking around with a frizzy abomination perched on your head these days is just not acceptable anymore, sad , but true.
Ha, I can just imagine the reaction my old PE teachers would have had to that!! We are raising a nation of spoilt little brats - if they're that worried about their hair they should tie it up on PE days! The school is just pandering to silly fads and encouraging kids to be image obsessed.
A toe up the chorus and verse is whats needed there. So much for discipline eh? When I was at school to had to do PE whether is messed with the locks or not. Spoilt brats
To misquote Einstein
only two things are infinite; the Universe and the amount of beauty products women need, and I'm not sure about the first one.
As a man you fail to understand the important role hair straigteners play in the lives of females.
My whole daily happiness revolves around my GHDs--if they are not within reaching distance I am not a happy girl !!
that is just a pure waste of money what a excuse for getting out of p.e in my days if we used that one we would of been laughed at with a sharp toe up your jacksey
That's ridiculous. They need to just make them get in there and take PE and let them worry about their hair on their own time and on their own budget.
They should shave their heads and throw some hockey sticks at them. Get out there and batter some shins you light weights.
