Hair straighteners?

I have straight shoulder-length, layered hair. The only problem is that it always curve out at the ends. I intend to buy a cheap hair straightener. Can I just use it? Or do I need to apply anything on my hair before I can use it? If so, What do I need to apply?Hair straighteners?
yeah you definately want to use a heat protectant. I myself am terrible at doing so. I have it in my counter top and never put it on. I guess because I get lazy at doing so. You will most likey get split ends as a result of not using a heat protectant. Depending how much you use the iron, dry hair will most likely be a result. (=Hair straighteners?
Protection spray
The intense heat can damage your hair, so always use heat protection spray.
just use some heat protection spray. i use VO5 heat conditioner spray.
there is a way to cute hair so it doesnt flip out at the ends, also try using different products or working sprays. try redkins straight and workforce hair spray. those are great products to acheive straight hair also i wouldnt recommend getting a big expensive flat iron if you have straight hair. try products first.
Use a heat protector spray or cream before you straightener. I wouldnt straighten every day is possible. Also the more expensive straighteners do work MUCH better I have noticed and do less damage. I have a CHI and love it. A straightener can flip it out though.
Everyone thinks that CHI straighteners are amazing, and don't get me wrong they work well. I would just rather not spend a butt load of money on a straightener. I bought a Revlon straightener and it works just as well as a CHI for like a fourth of the price.
