my hair is MEGA thick and wavy and my hair goes like silky smooth with 2 strokes max!
Also, my hair is like down to my waist, and it only takes less than half an hour to do with these straighteners. My mates GHD's took longer!!

It depends on how curly your hair is, as to which straightener you use. Are you talking about a chemical straightener or a flat iron? If it's a chemical they are to strong to use your self, unless you've done it before. If it's a flat iron a ceramic tourmaline flat iron will be good. Be sure to get some good products like good shampoo and conditioner for flat ironing and heat protectant spray for excess heat.
these are the straighteners that me and my mum use :) mine were rubbish so i started using my mums and i think they're really good :) everyone always tells me how straight my hair is and they do work really well. they heat up good and are easy to work :)

have you seriously had a look at GHD hair straighteners?
They are absolutely the most amazing thing I have ever come across. I'd put my life savings into them!!! I live in Australia and they are number 1 here. I have never found a straightener which straightens just going over your hair once. I have ridiculously curly hair and it works like a charm. It even gets the tiny stray bits!
Definitely try it. You'll never go back! I promise!!!!!!
Babyliss pro 230 straighteners are suppose to be good and they are on sale, were 拢57.69 now 拢28.47, but if I was you I would save up some extra money and invest in GHD's

you get what you pay for,go for the best,save your money and go for ghds,otherwise you might as well give me your brass,dont waste your B-DAY money on the cheap and cheerfull,add to it,and get the best.
just look for the highest temp they can heat up to.
The hotter, the straighter the hair.
Go for slim ones - that way you'll also be able to curl your hair with them if you ever decided you wanted to.
Spend your birthday money on something else, like a new outfit or DVDs because with hair straighteners, it's worth investing, GHDs are the best, anything under 40拢 which is roughly 80$ won't be any good.

GHD's are the best, but unfortunately they are priced between 拢90-拢110
if they have them the tresemme ones are quite good, they're called salonelite or something like that.. they're good :)
