And are they worth the hefty price tag?
Are there other straighteners that work equally well for a lot less money. Are GHD's really the creame de la creame of hair straighteners?
i had a pair of ghds and theres no doubt they are reaaly good, but when they broke i went for a new pair at my hairdressers and she had stop selling them. she had started stocking gorgeous hair straightners and they are just as good plus they look nice. i got a roll bag with straightners, comb, clips and heat protector for 拢100. now the for the same in ghd its about 拢150. if they break you dont have to send them off i just take them back to the shop where you bought them and swap the proken pair for a new set!! straight away!!
http://www.gorgeous-hair.co.uk have a wee look and see what you think. they are what i would recommend -they are still expensive but you get alot more for your money compared to ghdAre GHD's really the creame de la creame of hair straighteners?
As far as those available in the UK go, you CAN see the difference as far as straighteners available in the UK are concerned. A hairdresser that told us that they were no different eventually admitted that she'd never actually used them.
I bought some ghds about 2 months ago and I can't live without them! My hair is really thick, so It would take about 45 minutes to straighten my hair using normal straighteners, but it takes about 20 mins or less with my ghds!
If you haven't already, you should get some! They are really worth the money! :)
Hope I helped x
They are certainly the best selling and well known brand.
I use different ones at work which do all that GHD's do but are a fraction of the price.
Remember that good quality products and using your tools correctly will give great results!
my missus thought so, but hers broke so as a birthday pressie i bought her a new mobile and i thought i'd get her new GHD's as well but i nearly shat meself when i seen the price tag. she had to settle for a set of phillips at 27 quid.
I have had mine for about a year and it's the 4th straightener I have owned and by far the best. I got it off eBay for $220 and it was sooo worth it. It straightens hair really well, but you have to have a good thermal spray to go with it. I use iron start from Stefans in Australia and it's the best I've ever used. It costs $19.95 and you might be able to buy it off eBay shipped over to the US, I'm not sure.
But yes, they are very good. If you want to try a GHD out, you should be able to go into a salon and get them to straighten your hair for you and explain to them that you're thinking of buying a GHD and they should tell you what they recommend.
GHD's are great if you have the cash to shell out but like a few other girls said you can get a flat iron for less cash that is going to work just as great. GHD can sell their product for so much because of their marketing schemes!
A Paul Brown and a Chi work just as well for a few less! BaByliss works wonders as well for a cheaper price as does Wigo. It all depends what you want to spend and how much you are going to use them.
there's nothing like GHDs, they are the best
They just seem so good because of their marketing.
I use a sassoon straightener ... it's pretty good.
yes
I bought my GHDs over 2 years ago and would never buy anything else. They have lasted a couple of years so far, I would say that would make it worth the money.. Plus they really do straighten your hair brilliantly.. Never any complaints.. There probably is something out there just as good, but unless you are willing to spend a lot of money trying to find them, i would suggest, just get a pair of GHDs.. They will be worth it..
hey GHD's, CHI, etc are good irons however you are mainly paying for the name and packaging. I bought my straightner at Sally Beauty store I spent about $60.00 I believe it's made by Jilbree(? spelling) and it's awesome. You get what u pay 4 in this case don't cheap out but the most expensive isn't necessary either. Use the right technique and a smoothing serum and your fine.
Yes. They are even 'la creme de la creme'.
