Whats the best way to use hair Straighteners, i haven't used them before and thinking of using them?

would be greatful for your advice, thanksWhats the best way to use hair Straighteners, i haven't used them before and thinking of using them?
Hey, make sure your hair is clean and put some sort of serum or cream that will make it smooth or easier to make straight ( most brands for hair do something like this). Then spray in some sort of heat protector ( I use Tresseme, its really good!) Turn the hair straighteners on before you use them and give them a couple of minutes to heat up. Take a section of hair, depending on the size of the straighteners and how much hair they can handle, the smaller the better really. Put the straighteners right at the top of your strand of hair near the roots and slowly slide it down. you may need to go over that piece of hair till it is as straight as you want it. Then move on to the next. To end, use some sort of hairspray to help it stay straight.

Remember not to use them too often as it does damage hair.

Good luck!

Use on a low setting at first, otherwise you will damage your hair. Let the heat up and take a section of combed hair in your hand put the plates firmly together at the base of the hair (at your scalp). Pull the straighteners away from your head, in the direction you want the hair to sit, pressing the plates together with an even pressure. Do this with all the sections you want straight (each sectionshould be about an inch or 2 in width). Don't pull the straightners through your hair too slowly or you'll burn it. You can always go over a section more than once if you don't think it's straight enough. Try and use protective sprays and conditioners to minimize the damage.
First off make sure your hair is completely dry! if not you'll burn it too a crisp, sicckkkk! I would recommend using a ceramic straightner if you're able too. Anyways, if you can't, it's alright. Start at the bottom of your hair, preferebly the back, and pull the rest up. start form the roots down so yu don't have ugly creases. as it becomes straightened let down SMALL peices of hair, if they're too large it won't look as good. Also, make sure you don't just pull the straightner down your hair real quick, let it really straighten and ove it slowly down your hair. Move through your hair like this till your done(:

ohhh and if you turn the straightner different ways you can use it to curl your hair or shape it around your face!
Im a hairdresser and have straightened my hair every day for the past 5 years.

Use a good heat protector spray like GHD heat protector, spray it evenly but not too much, you dont want greasy hair.

If you havent got straightners yet, I would suggest GHD's, the worlds best straightners in my opinion.

Section your hair and start from the root, dont go too close otherwise you'll burn your scalp, and then slowly drag the straightner down to the tips of your hair, dont go over the same section too many times.
First of all do not get a cheap kind, because it will ruin your hair even faster then an expensive straightner. Always make sure to use heat protector as well, I always put some in my hair when it's still wet before I blow dry and straighten my hair. You don't want to use a straightner everyday either because it can break off your hair. Always put it at a lower setting because the hotter it is the easier it is to damage your hair.
if you have layers, make sure you do each layer individually or you won't get the look you're hoping for

NEVER do it with wet hair!!!

you can get like a spray-on oil to use on your hair before you straighten it. this will keep your hair from getting damaged and will make it smooth and shiny when you're done

Get one with ceramic plates, they're not as damaging. Then get a frizz-fighting gel to put in beforehand. I put that in, then blowdry, then straighten from the bottom up (i.e. starting at the nape of my neck).

Start on the medium setting first so you don't fry your hair.

Cheers
I have really curly spanish hair. After a shower put leave in conditioner in your hair and let it air dry or blow dry. Make sure it is completely dry and then go over sections with a flat iron and then comb them and go over again.
before u straighten your hair try using a heat protective spray which will prevent any damage! when straightening you could section your hair off so u don't miss any bits out. you can also curl your hair with them if they are thin enough and flick bits of hair out depending on what style your after! X
to not use it to often. you will slowy damage your hair

remember to use a heat protector everytime you use it. :]

also dont set the heat setting to high.
Switch them on.
You put your hair in between the hot parts and move it down...
make sure u get hair oil because after a while if u just straighten your hair, its gonna get really damaged...
section off your hair

better results
