How do I clean a MaxiGlide Hair Straightener?

I have had a Maxius MaxiGlide hair straightener for a couple years. And a residue has built up on the plates (from straightening spray and whatnot). What should I clean it with? Vinegar?How do I clean a MaxiGlide Hair Straightener?
Use Rubbung Alchohol, it cleans and disinfects. Works gr8 4 me.How do I clean a MaxiGlide Hair Straightener?
i'm sure the DVD would have told you to use mild soap and a toothbrush. i clean mine after every use.

I clean mine by just scraping the residue off when the iron is hot and keeping it clean by wiiping off the plates with a towel after every use.
