70 bucks is actually at the lower price range for straighteners. And some straighteners will do that...just loose heat or not turn on anymore because they are either old, or just cheap. My old straightener was about 60 bucks and it worked perfect for a while but eventually started loosing heat and then it wouldn't even turn on. I got a new one, a chi :) and it works great!! My friend has had hers for 2 years and it hasn't lost heat or broken. They are much more popular and even though they cost more, they are better quality.

How do you make your hair straightener hotter?
I've had my hair straightener for about a year and a half now.. it was pretty expensive, 70 bucks, i put it on 410 F. But it doesnt go that hot anymore. I think its because it is pretty old, but i dont know. Is there anyway to make it hotter ? Thanks.How do you make your hair straightener hotter?
